Beyond the golf

Life away from the course at Trump Turnberry

Quiet coastal village

Turnberry village is half a kilometre from the hotel, and the sea does most of the entertaining here. One beach is within a short walk, with a dozen more and a couple of marinas inside five kilometres. Turnberry Adventures, the activity centre, is 400 metres away; Turnberry Castle is 1.7km out. For food and drink you have a cafe, two restaurants and two bars within easy reach, so dinner sorts itself even if the nightlife does not. Let us know who is travelling and we will say plainly whether the pace here suits your group.

1 beache within a stroll

Evenings are genuinely quiet: a couple of bars and two restaurants, not a night out. If your group wants nightlife after golf, this is the wrong base.

Tell us who’s coming and we’ll pick the base that fits your group’s evenings.

Trump Turnberry: your questions answered

Is Trump Turnberry worth it for a golf break?

For most golfers, yes, provided the Ailsa is the reason you are going. It has hosted four Open Championships and sits among the top courses in the world, with the King Robert the Bruce course adding a second 18 on site. This is a luxury resort, so it suits golfers who want a proper occasion; if you simply want cheap Scottish golf, it is not the budget option.

How much is a golf package at Trump Turnberry?

Packages start at £465 (≈ €545) (≈ $615) (≈ CA$875) (≈ AU$895) (≈ NZ$1,075) (≈ CHF 495) (≈ kr 6,085) (≈ kr 6,015) (≈ kr 4,065) per person for three nights bed and breakfast with two rounds. Green fees are built in. Prices are ground only, so flights are an optional add-on, and every trip is priced to your exact dates and group size.

What golf courses are at Trump Turnberry?

Two 18-hole courses. The Ailsa is the headline act, host of four Open Championships and ranked among the top courses in the world. The King Robert the Bruce, opened in 2017, gives the resort a second full round. The resort itself overlooks the ocean and Ailsa Craig, with views out to the Isle of Arran and the Mull of Kintyre.

How hard is it to get a tee time on the Ailsa course?

Expect demand; the Ailsa has hosted four Open Championships and ranks among the top courses in the world, so it pays to plan ahead. This is where a specialist earns their keep: a named Golf Planet Holidays specialist plans the trip and books the tee times, including the hard-to-get ones. Give us your preferred dates early and we will build the break around them.

Can I book Trump Turnberry through Golf Planet Holidays?

Yes. We have been building golf trips since 1981 and are rated 4.9 on Google. A named specialist puts your Turnberry package together, books your rounds on the Ailsa and King Robert the Bruce, and handles the details end to end. Enquiries are free with no payment and no obligation; your quote arrives by email. Trips are PTS protected, with ATOL cover where flights are included.

Is there anything to do at Turnberry apart from golf?

You will not be short of options. The resort has an Outdoor Activity Centre with a wide range of activities, and the coastal setting overlooking Ailsa Craig gives non-players plenty to look at. Turnberry village is roughly half a kilometre from the hotel. If your group mixes golfers and non-golfers, your specialist can shape the itinerary so both halves get what they came for.
