Serious golfersOld Tom Morris and Braid both had a hand in the revisions and the pedigree shows. The Moray Firth wind sets the examination, and the 13th and 18th are where good rounds slip away.
Higher handicapsFlat underfoot, so tired legs are no excuse, but the gorse and heather eat anything crooked. Pick sensible tees, keep the driver honest and Nairn gives you a fair chance of a score.

For Scotland, flights from London to Edinburgh or Glasgow take around 90 minutes, or take the scenic East Coast Main Line overnight. In England, most golf regions — Surrey heathland, Kent links, Yorkshire moorland — are within 2-3 hours of London.
