GROUND-ONLY GOLF, TAILOR-MADE SINCE 1981

The island where the European Tour once teed off, fourteen courses deep.

Mallorca golf holidays

Pula Golf at Son Servera carried the DP World Tour for the best part of a decade, and Olazábal reworked its closing holes himself. Base yourself at the Steigenberger above Camp de Mar bay, or Pure Salt Port Adriano on the marina, and the rest of the fourteen are an easy drive.

Mallorca packs an extraordinary density of golf into one island, and the variety is the real draw: forested mountain layouts above Palma, cliff-edge holes on the southwest coast, and quiet inland championship tracks all within an easy drive. The capital sits at the centre of it, so a single base can reach the Son Vida courses, the Calvia coast and the resorts at Andratx and Santa Ponsa without long transfers. It is a place where you can play a different course every morning and still be back for lunch by the marina.

We have arranged Mallorca golf since 1981. Every itinerary is hand-built and hand-priced around your dates, your group and the courses you want to play.

Why play golf in Mallorca

  • A genuine cluster: three courses at Son Vida alone — Son Vida, Son Quint and Son Muntaner — minutes from Palma
  • Real variety in one island, from the mountain-and-pine of Golf de Andratx to the open inland fairways of Son Antem West and East at Llucmajor
  • Short transfers — most courses sit within easy reach of Palma and the southwest coast
  • Mature, well-known layouts: Real Golf de Bendinat, Golf Santa Ponsa 1, Son Gual and Canyamel
  • Strong hotel-to-tee pairings, with stay-and-play resorts at Son Vida, Camp de Mar and Son Servera
  • A long, mild playing window either side of the hot summer months

The courses you’ll play

The Son Vida hill above Palma is the island's beating heart, with three contrasting courses — Son Vida Golf Course, Son Quint Golf Course and Son Muntaner Golf Course — set among pines and villas. West of the city, Real Golf de Bendinat and Golf Santa Ponsa 1 run close to the coast, while Golf de Andratx at Camp de Mar climbs into dramatic mountain scenery. Son Gual near Palma and Son Antem West and East at Llucmajor offer modern, championship-length golf inland. On the east coast, Pula Golf Club at Son Servera and Canyamel Golf Club near Arta reward a day trip, alongside Capdepera Golf Course, T Golf and Country Club (Poniente) at Calvia and T Golf Palma.

Where you’ll stay

Where you sleep shapes the trip. For golf on the doorstep, the Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel and Castillo Hotel Son Vida sit right among the three Son Vida courses above Palma. On the southwest coast, the Steigenberger Golf and Spa Resort at Camp de Mar pairs with Golf de Andratx, while Pure Salt Port Adriano, Son Caliu Spa Oasis Hotel and Zafiro Palace Palmanova suit the Calvia and Santa Ponsa courses. The Iberostar Suite Hotel Jardin del Sol sits at Santa Ponsa itself. For the east coast, Pula Golf Resort at Son Servera and Hipotels Cala Millor Park keep Pula and Canyamel close. In Palma, Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace puts the city within reach.

Best time to play golf in Mallorca

Spring and autumn are Mallorca's golfing sweet spots. From March to May the island is green, the temperatures comfortable and the courses at their best, while September and October bring warm, settled days after the summer crowds have thinned — ideal for full rounds without the midday heat. High summer is hot, so early tee times are the trick if you travel in July or August. Winter is mild but noticeably cooler and quieter, with the chance of rain — this is not a winter-sun destination in the way the Canaries are, but a few crisp days' golf are still very possible. For most golfers, we steer towards April, May, September and October.

A sense of Mallorca

History & heritage

Palma anchors the island, its skyline crowned by the great La Seu cathedral and an old town of honey-stone lanes, courtyards and squares. The island's history runs deep, from Roman and Moorish roots to centuries as a Mediterranean crossroads, and you feel it in the architecture above Palma's harbour — Castillo Hotel Son Vida occupies a converted manor in keeping with that heritage. Beyond the capital, mountain villages and coastal towns like Andratx and Arta hold onto a quieter, traditional Mallorca. It is an easy place to fold a little culture around your golf, with the cathedral and old quarter never far from the Son Vida courses.

Food & wine

Mallorcan cooking is honest island fare: fresh fish and seafood off the boats, sobrassada (the island's soft cured sausage), almonds and olive oil from the inland groves, and the spiral ensaimada pastry that turns up everywhere at breakfast. Palma's marina and old town are lined with everything from no-frills tapas bars to polished restaurants, and the southwest coast around Port Adriano and Calvia is well set up for a long lunch after golf. The island has a growing wine scene too, with local reds and whites worth seeking out. After a round at Andratx or Son Vida, a leisurely seafood dinner by the water is part of the appeal.

Beyond the fairways

There is plenty to fill a non-golf day or a travelling partner's itinerary. The Serra de Tramuntana mountains rise behind the west coast for scenic drives and walks, while the marinas at Port Adriano and around Calvia are made for boat trips and waterside lunches. Palma itself rewards a wander — the cathedral, the old town and its harbour — and the beaches around Cala Millor, Santa Ponsa and Palmanova are within easy reach of the resorts. The east coast around Arta and Capdepera offers a quieter, more rural side of the island. Most of it sits close to the courses, so mixing golf and downtime takes little planning.

Getting around & exploring

A hire car is the simplest way to make the most of Mallorca's spread of courses, and the island's roads are good. From a Palma or southwest base you can reach the Son Vida courses, Bendinat, Santa Ponsa and Andratx in well under an hour, and the east-coast courses at Son Servera, Arta and Capdepera on a comfortable day trip. Distances are modest by Mediterranean standards, so even staying at, say, Camp de Mar or Cala Millor, you can range across much of the island. We arrange transfers and any car hire as part of your itinerary, matched to where you're staying and the courses you want to play.

Getting there

Palma de Mallorca airport is one of the best-connected in the Mediterranean, with frequent flights from across the UK and Europe and short transfer times to the main golf areas — typically well under an hour to Palma, Son Vida, Calvia and Camp de Mar, and a little longer to the east coast. Flights are a separate, ATOL-protected add-on rather than part of the ground arrangements, so you're free to use your preferred airline, airport or air miles. We can quote flights alongside your golf and hotels, or build the ground-only itinerary and leave the flying to you — whichever suits.

Good to know

  • Currency: the euro
  • Language: Spanish and Catalan (Mallorquí); English is widely spoken in golf and resort areas
  • Ground-only: your itinerary covers hotels, golf and transfers; flights are a separate ATOL-protected add-on we can arrange or you can book yourself
  • Getting around: a hire car is recommended to reach the full spread of courses; we'll advise based on your base
  • When to go: spring and autumn are the sweet spots; summer is hot (book early tee times); winter is mild but cooler and quieter
  • Buggies and tee times: we pre-book tee times and arrange buggies where you'd like them — useful in the warmer months
  • Tailor-made: every Mallorca trip is hand-built and hand-priced around your dates, group and chosen courses
