• Serious golfersLength pays here, with bunkers doing the policing rather than trees. The 8th plays from the highest point on the course and the 15th is where tidy cards come apart.
• Higher handicapsThe open fairways are forgiving and the trees stay out of your way, which takes the fear out of the tee shot, though there is still enough climb to justify a buggy.
• SocietiesFree shuttles from the Castillo Son Vida and the Sheraton Arabella plus two sister courses on the same estate make the logistics about as simple as a group trip gets in Palma.
