4.997 reviewsIf you are going to play golf, there's nothing better than playing in the sunshine so my wife and I had an item on our bucket list to take a month driving around the Iberian peninsula playing golf, staying at good hotels and eating well! …
We recently used Golf planet Holidays for our annual golf trip to Spain, I can honestly say that the service provided was second to none, an absolutely first class experience.. well done the team at Golf planet holidays..
About Son Quint Golf Course
Son Quint is a long and open course, part of the trio of great courses around Castillo Son Vida Hotel and the Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel. While trees don't really come into play there are are plenty of bunkers and a little water to overcome. On the eighth tee, the highest point of the course, you tee-off facing a stunning view of Palma Cathedral.
- Buggies
- Trolleys
- Free shuttles from Castillo Hotel Son Vida and the Sheraton Mallorca Arabella Golf Hotel
- Adjacent to the golf courses of Son Vida and Son Muntaner
Our take
Of the three courses around the Son Vida hotels, Son Quint is the one where the driver earns its place, long and open with the trouble waiting in the sand.
- Serious golfersLength pays here, with bunkers doing the policing rather than trees. The 8th plays from the highest point on the course and the 15th is where tidy cards come apart.
- Higher handicapsThe open fairways are forgiving and the trees stay out of your way, which takes the fear out of the tee shot, though there is still enough climb to justify a buggy.
- SocietiesFree shuttles from the Castillo Son Vida and the Sheraton Arabella plus two sister courses on the same estate make the logistics about as simple as a group trip gets in Palma.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Hilly — we would take a buggy. 208 metres of climb over eighteen holes.
The wind. The wind is usually easterly, averaging 7 km/h, gusting to 30. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 21 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Ramón Espinosa with Kurt Rossknecht.
The holes that will cost you. The 15th, the 8th and the 2nd. The 15th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
