About Pula Golf Club
Completely redesigned by Jose Maria Olazabal between 2004 and 2006, Pula golf course is now a joy to play. It's a fairly straightforward layout, with 14 of the holes giving you a view of the green from the tee, but that doesn't make it easy. The par 3 second has you driving over a canyon.
Pula has hosted the PGA European Tour Championships Mallorca and Invitationals in the name of Mallorca's most famous resident, Rafa Nadal.
The clubhouse is a renovated farmhouse dating back to 1581. Easy walking. 44 miles east of Palma and close to the courses of Capdepera and Canyamel.

Our take
Olazabal rebuilt Pula between 2004 and 2006 and turned it into a tour venue, honest from the tee but hilly enough that most groups take buggies.
- Serious golfersIt has hosted the European Tour and holds up: the canyon carry at the par 3 2nd sets the tone, and the 6th and 10th are the holes that decide most matches.
- Buddy tripsFourteen greens are visible from the tee, so nobody can blame blind shots when the money is on the line, and the tour history gives the round a bit of occasion.
- Higher handicapsNearly 175 metres of climb over eighteen holes means the buggy is money well spent. The layout itself is honest; you can see what is asked of you on almost every tee.

The walk. Hilly — we would take a buggy. 174 metres of climb over eighteen holes.
The wind. The wind is usually easterly, averaging 10 km/h, gusting to 35. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 9 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
