About Alcanada Golf Course
Alcanada golf course is a great Robert Trent Jones Junior design in the north-east of the island. This wonderfully-maintained course allows you to open your shoulders but stray off-line and the rough and streams will soon come into play. Some of the holes are fairly long and there are a few steep slopes so you’ll need to be on your game to score well here. With fantastic views out to the sea, it is thoroughly recommended. 38 miles north-east of Palma.
Our take
You can open your shoulders at Alcanada, at least until the streams and the rough remind you this Robert Trent Jones Junior design was never meant to be a pushover.
- Serious golfersThe long holes need proper striking and the 7th and the 11th are the pair that shape the score. The course is kept wonderfully, so no excuses on the greens.
- Higher handicapsThere is width to aim at, but a few steep slopes mean a buggy is the sensible call in the warmer months.
- CouplesSea views from much of the round and Port d'Alcudia close by make it an easy course to share, even when only one of you cares about the score.
