Costa Adeje is the base most of our Tenerife golf holidays are built around. The courses packages here usually use, Golf Costa Adeje and Golf Las Américas, sit within fifteen minutes of the hotels. Golf Costa Adeje plays across old banana-farming terraces, dry-stone walls still crossing several holes, with the Atlantic below you on the closing stretch. The numbers for January and February golf in Tenerife: daytime highs of 20 to 23C on the south coast, sea around 19C, and six hours or so of usable sun even in the shortest weeks. Rain in the south is rare and brief. You will play in a polo shirt and you will not see a temporary green.

The honest caveat is wind. The northeast trade winds that keep the Canaries comfortable also pick up on exposed holes, particularly along the coast in the afternoon. Mornings run calmer. A two-club wind on a seaside par 3 is part of Canarian golf; treat it as a links lesson with the heating on.
