About Stellenbosch Golf Club
Stellenbosch Golf Club is an immaculate parkland golf course on the outskirts of this historic town. As you play the course you will walk alongside vineyards and take in breathtaking vistas of the Helderburg mountains.
Opened in 1904 this magnificent golf course has hosted some of South Africa’s most prestigious golf tournaments, including the 1999 South African Open and five South African Masters tournaments.

- Serious golfersA course that has held the South African Open and five SA Masters sets its own standard. Immaculate parkland, water on enough holes to matter, and the 5th and the 14th will test the best card in your group.
- Higher handicapsParkland of this quality flatters a mid-range game, though loose approaches find water and there is a fair bit of up and down across the round, so a buggy is no disgrace.
- CouplesYou walk beside working vineyards with the mountains behind, and historic Stellenbosch is minutes away for the evening. There is a reason Sue includes it on her hosted tour.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Moderate. 149 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually northerly, averaging 9 km/h, gusting to 30. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 22 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Peter Matkovich and Mark Muller (redesign).
