Our take

Water and wind do the defending here: the ground at Fuerteventura is dead flat, but three big lakes and a near constant island breeze punish anything loose.

Fuerteventura Golf Club: your questions answered

Is Fuerteventura Golf Club worth playing?

Yes, if you want a flat, walkable coastal round where water sets the test. Three large lakes shape the course and the fairways meander around them, so it favours straight hitters over big swingers, and in honesty a wayward day will cost you a few golf balls. The gentle climb to the par 5 17th green and the downhill dogleg 18th make a proper finish.

Who designed Fuerteventura Golf Club and what kind of course is it?

Juan Catarineu designed it. Fuerteventura Golf Club is an 18 hole, par 72 coastal layout just south of the village of Caleta de Fuste in the Canary Islands. The ground is relatively flat, but three large lakes bring water into play across the round, and the closing hole runs downhill back to the clubhouse.

Do I need a buggy at Fuerteventura Golf Club?

Most golfers walk it comfortably. The course is relatively flat, with the gentle rise to the 17th green the only climb of note, and pull trolleys are included when your golf is packaged with the Elba Palace or Sheraton Fuerteventura hotels. If you would rather ride, ask your specialist when you enquire and they will check buggy availability with the club for your dates.

What is included when I play Fuerteventura Golf Club on a package?

Green fees are built into every Golf Planet Holidays package, and if you stay at the Elba Palace Hotel or the Sheraton Fuerteventura Hotel your package also includes 30 range balls and a pull trolley. Your specialist arranges transfers between the hotel and the course as part of the trip, so the practical side is handled before you travel.

How much does a golf holiday at Fuerteventura Golf Club cost?

There is no set headline price for this course, because the cost depends on your hotel, dates, group size and how many rounds you play. Green fees are included in the package price, and the course pairs with the Elba Palace and Sheraton Fuerteventura hotels for the best inclusions. Enquiries are free with no payment or obligation, and your quote arrives by email.

Can I book Fuerteventura Golf Club through Golf Planet Holidays?

Yes. Golf Planet Holidays has hand-built golf holidays since 1981 and is rated 4.9 on Google. A named specialist plans your Fuerteventura trip, books the tee times and arranges transfers between your hotel and the course. Trips are PTS protected, with ATOL cover where flights are included; flights are an optional add-on, as packages are priced ground-only.
