You land, your private transfer is waiting. The airport behind you, a smooth run into Claremont and The Vineyard, your home for the first five nights. Settle in, then join Sue for the welcome dinner. The trip's begun before you've even teed it up.
Metropolitan, a parkland gem right in the city with Table Mountain filling the sky behind the greens. Dinner tonight at Barristers, a Newlands institution.
Westlake, tucked under the mountains in Tokai on the quieter southern side of the city. A tree-lined parkland round with the Constantiaberg for company.
A breather from the golf. Into the city for the sights and the markets, then Afternoon Tea at the grand old Mount Nelson. Table Mountain too, if the cable car's running.
Royal Cape, the oldest golf club in South Africa, founded in 1885 and laid out beneath Devil's Peak. A proper championship test to close out the Cape Town leg.
Check out of The Vineyard and head for the Helderberg. A round at Somerset West, a classic old Murray layout given a clever Matkovich redesign, then settle into Silver Forest, your base for the final four nights.
A day among the vines. The scenic road to Franschhoek, the prettiest of the wine valleys, for a long lunch, a tasting or two and a browse of the galleries and craft shops.
Stellenbosch, South Africa's oldest inland course, winding beneath the peaks. Afterwards: wood-fired pizza and a cold drink on the clubhouse terrace as the sun slips behind the mountains. Hard to beat.
A final round at Erinvale, Ernie Els' home club, the Hottentots-Holland mountains standing guard over every fairway. A Gary Player design that hosted the World Cup of Golf. Tonight, a farewell dinner to toast a trip you'll be talking about for years.
Home, or stay on. Many of our guests tack on a Big-Five safari at Gondwana, or a few more days in the Cape. Just say the word and we'll build it in.
Gondwana Private Game Reserve sits on the Garden Route, about four hours east of Cape Town, so it picks up naturally where the tour ends. Eleven thousand hectares, malaria free, and the Big Five on it. Days run to a simple shape: a game drive out at six in the morning, breakfast when you are back, the afternoon to yourself, afternoon tea at half past three and the second drive at four, then dinner at half past six. Two drives a day, every day, in open vehicles with your own guide and tracker.
Full board covers the lodge, both drives, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Drinks are extra except on the game drives themselves, and the reserve charges a conservation levy of R550 per adult per stay. Most guests take two or three nights, which is enough for four or six drives and a proper look at the reserve. Tell us how long you want and we will price it with your dates.

Kwena Lodge is the one most couples take. Fourteen free-standing suites, each with a wood fire and a shaded deck looking over two waterholes, an infinity pool at the lodge and dinner under thatch. It is adults only, so the evenings stay quiet.
Kwena and Lehele villas suit a group travelling together: three and four bedroom houses with their own kitchen and a wraparound deck, and you are driven to the lodge for meals and drives. Lehele is the family side of the reserve and takes children of any age, with a junior ranger programme for the four to eleven year olds included in the rate.
Ulubisi House is the whole place to yourselves: three bedrooms, six adults, your own guide, vehicle, chef and butler, a pool and a hot tub, and local drinks included. It is the one to ask about if a few of you want to finish the trip somewhere memorable.
