Emirates Golf Club: your questions answered

Is Emirates Golf Club worth playing?

Yes, particularly if you want to play the home of the first grass course in the region. The Majlis, a Karl Litten design built in and around the dunes on the edge of Dubai, is renowned worldwide for its testing layout, with seven fresh and saltwater lakes in play. It suits golfers who enjoy a genuine examination; the Faldo is equally challenging, so pure beginners should manage expectations.

What is the difference between the Majlis and Faldo courses?

The Majlis is the original, a Karl Litten design and the first grass course in the region, built in and around the dunes on the edge of Dubai and renowned worldwide for its testing layout. The Faldo, from Sir Nick Faldo, is equally challenging. Together they give the club 36 holes, so playing both across a Dubai trip is easy to arrange.

What is the Majlis course like?

The Majlis is an immaculate, testing layout that meanders through the dunes, with hundreds of species of flora and fauna along the fairways and seven fresh and saltwater lakes shaping plenty of shots. It has been challenging golfers for more than 30 years and rewards thinking your way round rather than simply hitting it long. Water is the recurring theme, so pack a few spare balls.

How much does a golf trip including Emirates Golf Club cost?

There is no set package price listed for Emirates Golf Club itself; it is a course we build into Dubai trips shaped around your dates rather than a fixed-price package. Your quote depends on the hotel, the season and how many rounds you play. Green fees are built into every Golf Planet Holidays package and priced per person, and enquiries are free with no obligation.

Can I book Emirates Golf Club through Golf Planet Holidays?

Yes. A named golf specialist plans your trip, books the tee times at Emirates Golf Club, including hard-to-get slots, and arranges transfers between your hotel and the course. Golf Planet Holidays has been hand-building golf trips since 1981, is rated 4.9 on Google and is PTS protected, with ATOL cover where flights are included.
