About Emirates Golf Club
Emirates Golf Club in Dubai is the home of the first grass golf club in the region. More than 30 years later Emirates now offers golfers two splendid courses, the original Majlis and the equally challenging Faldo. The Majlis is a Karl Litten design, built in and around the dunes on the edge of Dubai. It is renowned worldwide for its testing layout. The immaculate course features hundreds of species of flora and fauna along the meandering fairways and seven fresh and saltwater lakes. The Faldo course was originally named The Wadi, but was redesigned by Sir Nick Faldo in 2005. The course is visually stunning and a good test of your game, whatever your ability. You can play this course day or night thanks to floodlights throughout the course.
- Buggies included
- Range balls included with your green fee

Our take
Thirty six holes at one address, and the Majlis half is the round most golfers fly to Dubai for.
- Serious golfersThe Majlis lives up to its reputation as a serious test of golf. Water threatens on hole after hole, and the 13th and 16th are where good cards come apart. Play it off tees you can actually handle.
- Buddy tripsTwo courses at one club settles the itinerary argument. Majlis one day, Faldo the next, and the walking is easy, barely 45 metres of climb across a whole round, so nobody needs a buggy excuse.
- Higher handicapsBe honest with yourselves: the Faldo is billed as every bit as demanding as the Majlis. With water waiting on so many holes, one sleeve of balls will not be enough. Come for the occasion, not the score.

Emirates Golf Club: your questions answered
Is Emirates Golf Club worth playing?
Yes, particularly if you want to play the home of the first grass course in the region. The Majlis, a Karl Litten design built in and around the dunes on the edge of Dubai, is renowned worldwide for its testing layout, with seven fresh and saltwater lakes in play. It suits golfers who enjoy a genuine examination; the Faldo is equally challenging, so pure beginners should manage expectations.
What is the difference between the Majlis and Faldo courses?
The Majlis is the original, a Karl Litten design and the first grass course in the region, built in and around the dunes on the edge of Dubai and renowned worldwide for its testing layout. The Faldo, from Sir Nick Faldo, is equally challenging. Together they give the club 36 holes, so playing both across a Dubai trip is easy to arrange.
What is the Majlis course like?
The Majlis is an immaculate, testing layout that meanders through the dunes, with hundreds of species of flora and fauna along the fairways and seven fresh and saltwater lakes shaping plenty of shots. It has been challenging golfers for more than 30 years and rewards thinking your way round rather than simply hitting it long. Water is the recurring theme, so pack a few spare balls.
How much does a golf trip including Emirates Golf Club cost?
There is no set package price listed for Emirates Golf Club itself; it is a course we build into Dubai trips shaped around your dates rather than a fixed-price package. Your quote depends on the hotel, the season and how many rounds you play. Green fees are built into every Golf Planet Holidays package and priced per person, and enquiries are free with no obligation.
Can I book Emirates Golf Club through Golf Planet Holidays?
Yes. A named golf specialist plans your trip, books the tee times at Emirates Golf Club, including hard-to-get slots, and arranges transfers between your hotel and the course. Golf Planet Holidays has been hand-building golf trips since 1981, is rated 4.9 on Google and is PTS protected, with ATOL cover where flights are included. Trips are ground-only as standard; flights are an optional add-on.
