Lithuania golf holidays

Vilnius golf at The V Club and the European Centre, Girijos

2 hotels · 2 courses · from £595pp · ATOL Protected

Lithuania is one of golf's quiet discoveries — a Baltic capital wrapped in pine forest and lakeland, where a handful of well-made courses sit within easy reach of one of Europe's most atmospheric old towns. Vilnius rewards the curious golfer: rounds in cool, clean air, unhurried tee sheets, and the kind of green-and-water landscape that makes northern golf so satisfying. We pair the city's leading clubs with comfortable, well-located stays so the golf and the place feel like one trip rather than two. This is a destination for travellers who like to play somewhere few of their friends have been.

Every Lithuania itinerary is hand-built and hand-priced around your dates, your group and the courses you want to play.

Why play golf in Lithuania

  • A genuine off-the-radar Baltic break — golf in and around Vilnius without the crowds of Europe's better-known coasts
  • The capital's leading clubs in one compact area: The V Club, Vilnius, the European Centre Golf Club, Girijos, and Vilnius Grand Resort
  • Forest-and-lake terrain that suits a thoughtful game, with cool summer air ideal for walking 18 holes
  • Long Baltic summer days that stretch the golfing evening well past dinner
  • Easy to combine with one of Europe's most characterful old towns — golf by day, a UNESCO-listed capital by night
  • Hand-picked stays and a tee sheet built around your group, not a fixed package

The courses you’ll play

The course at the heart of any Vilnius golf trip is The V Club, Vilnius — the city's flagship layout and the centrepiece of what we plan here. It is the kind of course that rewards a return visit, with the cool Baltic conditions encouraging a measured, considered round rather than a slog.

Around it sit the European Centre Golf Club, Girijos and the golf at Vilnius Grand Resort, giving a Vilnius trip more than one place to tee it up across a few days. We know these clubs and the area well, and we build the playing schedule to match how much golf you actually want — two rounds and city time, or back-to-back days on the course.

Where you’ll stay

For golf-first comfort, Vilnius Grand Resort is the natural base: a resort setting on the edge of the city with golf on the doorstep, ideal if you want to roll from breakfast to the first tee. It suits groups who want everything in one place and an unhurried rhythm.

If you'd rather wake up in the heart of the action, we also arrange stays in central Vilnius, putting the old town's restaurants, bars and history a short walk from your door and the clubs a comfortable drive out. Whichever you choose, we hand-pick the property around your group and your priorities — proximity to the course, room style and the feel you're after.

Best time to play golf in Lithuania

Lithuania is a summer golf game. The season runs roughly May to September, when the days are long, the air is mild and the courses are at their best. June, July and August are the sweet spot — warm, bright and with those long midsummer Baltic evenings that let you play on after most courses elsewhere have closed for the day.

Late spring and early autumn offer cooler, quieter rounds with fewer golfers about, though you'll want a layer for the morning. Winters here are cold, often wet and frequently freezing, so golf effectively pauses — this is firmly a warm-season destination, and we plan trips accordingly.

A sense of Lithuania

History & heritage

Vilnius wears its history openly. Its old town is one of the largest and best-preserved in Eastern Europe — a UNESCO World Heritage Site of baroque churches, cobbled lanes, courtyards and a hilltop castle looking out over red rooftops. It is a city that has been Polish, Russian and Soviet in turn, and you feel all of it in the architecture and the streets.

Between rounds, the capital offers easy, rewarding wandering: Cathedral Square, the artists' quarter, viewpoints over the river valley. It's the cultural counterweight that makes a Vilnius golf break feel like a proper trip rather than just a few rounds of golf.

Food & wine

Lithuanian cooking is hearty, seasonal and made for an appetite earned on the course. Expect rich, comforting plates — dumplings, cured meats, smoked fish, dark rye bread and the famous beetroot soup, vivid pink and served cold in summer. Forest mushrooms and berries turn up in season, a reminder of how close the countryside sits to the capital.

Vilnius also has a lively modern dining scene, with smart restaurants and craft beer bars tucked into the old town's lanes. Local beer is the natural after-golf drink here, and we're happy to point you towards the tables worth booking near your stay.

Beyond the fairways

Vilnius gives you plenty for the non-golf hours and for travelling partners. The old town alone can fill a day — castles, churches, viewpoints and unhurried café-sitting — while the surrounding lakes and pine forests make for easy escapes into the Baltic landscape.

A short trip out of the city takes you to Trakai, where a storybook island castle sits on a lake, one of Lithuania's most photographed sights. Spa time, river walks and the capital's museums round out the options. It's a relaxed, low-key destination — the appeal is the calm pace as much as any single attraction.

Getting around & exploring

A Vilnius golf trip is compact and easy to manage. The leading clubs sit a short drive from the city and from Vilnius Grand Resort, so transfers between your stay and the course are quick and straightforward.

For most groups a private transfer arrangement or a hire car works best, giving you the freedom to move between the clubs, the old town and a side-trip to Trakai on your own schedule. The city centre itself is walkable, with the old town best explored on foot. We'll set the ground arrangements up so the logistics simply work, leaving you to concentrate on the golf and the city.

Getting there

Vilnius is served by its own international airport, with connections from a range of European hubs, making the Lithuanian capital comfortably reachable for a focused golf break.

Flights are not included in our trips — we are a ground-only operator. We can, however, arrange your flights as a separate ATOL-protected add-on if you'd like us to handle the whole journey, or you're welcome to book your own and let us take care of everything on the ground from the moment you land.

Good to know

  • Ground-only: our prices cover the golf, stays and ground arrangements; flights are a separate ATOL-protected add-on we can arrange on request

  • Pack layers: even in summer, Baltic mornings and evenings can be cool — a light jacket and a sweater earn their place
  • Currency: Lithuania uses the euro
  • Base options: resort-style at Vilnius Grand Resort, or central Vilnius for old-town life on your doorstep
  • Bundle in the city: leave time for the UNESCO old town and a trip to Trakai castle — it's what sets this break apart
  • Hand-built: every Lithuania itinerary is priced and planned around your dates, your group and the courses you want to play — we hand-pick the clubs and stays for you
