Cyprus golf holidays

Play Aphrodite Hills, now PGA National Cyprus, where the 7th carries a 130-metre gorge, then drive twenty minutes east to Limassol Greens, opened in 2025 beside the salt lake. Both came off Cabell Robinson's drawing board, with carob trees, sea views and an Annabelle balcony in Paphos to come back to.

Cyprus sits where the Mediterranean turns warm and golden, and almost all of its golf gathers around Paphos on the island's south-west coast. Within a short drive you can play the clifftop drama of Aphrodite Hills, the highland calm of Minthis, the parkland sweep of Elea Estate and the hidden contours of Secret Valley — with Limassol Greens adding a fresh option further east. It is a compact, sun-soaked golfing corner with genuine variety, framed by the sea on one side and the Troodos foothills on the other.

We have arranged Cyprus golf since 1981. Every itinerary is hand-built and hand-priced around your dates, your group and the courses you want to play.

Why play golf in Cyprus

  • Five courses within easy reach — Aphrodite Hills, Minthis, Elea Estate, Secret Valley and Limassol Greens are all bookable from a single Paphos base, so you play more and drive less.
  • Real variety — clifftop and ravine holes at Aphrodite Hills, a mountainside layout at Minthis, mature parkland at Elea Estate and a wooded valley at Secret Valley.
  • A long playing window — mild winters and warm, settled shoulder seasons mean comfortable golf across much of the year.
  • Resort-quality bases — Aphrodite Hills and a clutch of Paphos hotels put accommodation, dining and the first tee close together.
  • We do the hard part — we know these courses and their tee-sheets, and we hand-pick the combination that suits your group.

The courses you’ll play

Aphrodite Hills Golf, PGA National Cyprus is the island's signature course, threading across two plateaus with a celebrated par-three carry over a deep ravine — a course that earns its PGA National billing.

Minthis Golf Club sits high in the hills near a 12th-century monastery, a cooler, scenic layout that rewards thoughtful play and offers long views over the surrounding countryside.

Elea Estate Golf Club is a Sir Nick Faldo design — mature, generous parkland with olive groves and open vistas, a fine all-round test.

Secret Valley Golf Resort lives up to its name, tucked into a wooded gorge with striking rock formations and a real sense of seclusion.

Limassol Greens brings a newer, championship-standard option to the east, broadening the choice beyond the Paphos cluster.

Where you’ll stay

Most of our Cyprus golf is built around Paphos, where the courses and the best hotels sit close together.

  • Aphrodite Hills Hotel by Atlantica — the heart of the integrated resort, steps from the PGA National course, with golf, spa and dining on site.
  • Aphrodite Hills Rentals — villas and apartments across the same resort, ideal for groups who want space and self-catering flexibility.
  • Annabelle Hotel, Paphos — a refined seafront address in the harbour town, long a favourite for its gardens and service.
  • Constantinou Bros Athena Royal Beach Hotel, Paphos — a relaxed adults-oriented beachfront base.
  • Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa, Paphos — a comfortable beach-and-spa option for unwinding after a round.

We match the hotel to your group and pair it with the courses you most want to play.

Best time to play golf in Cyprus

Cyprus is a shoulder-season golf destination at its best in spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when the days are warm, the light is soft and the courses are in fine condition. Summer brings reliably hot, sunny weather — wonderful for a beach-and-golf trip if you favour early tee times and an afternoon by the sea. Winter is mild but cooler and noticeably quieter; the golf is still playable on settled days, though Cyprus is not a guaranteed winter-sun destination in the way the Canaries or Morocco are. For the most comfortable golfing weather, we generally steer groups towards the spring and autumn windows.

A sense of Cyprus

History & heritage

Paphos wears its history openly. The whole town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the Tombs of the Kings and the celebrated Roman mosaics at the Paphos Archaeological Park, while legend places the birthplace of Aphrodite on the coast nearby — the source of the Aphrodite Hills name. Inland, the Troodos foothills hide painted Byzantine churches and old stone villages, and Minthis Golf Club itself shares its hillside with a centuries-old monastery. Cyprus blends Greek warmth with layers of crusader, Venetian and Ottoman history, so a few hours away from the course reward the curious.

Food & wine

Cypriot cooking is generous and unhurried. A traditional meze drifts across the table for hours — grilled halloumi, slow-cooked kleftiko lamb, fresh seafood, dips and warm bread — best enjoyed at a village taverna. The island is one of the oldest wine regions in the world, and the Paphos hinterland and Troodos slopes produce characterful local bottles, including the famous sweet Commandaria. Back at the resorts, Aphrodite Hills and the Paphos hotels offer everything from relaxed poolside dining to more polished restaurants, so you can match the evening to the mood after a day's golf.

Beyond the fairways

Cyprus gives non-golfers and rest days plenty to fill them.

  • Coast and sea — sandy beaches and clear water along the Paphos shoreline, with boat trips and the dramatic Aphrodite's Rock nearby.
  • History — the Tombs of the Kings, Roman mosaics and Paphos harbour castle.
  • Troodos foothills — scenic drives, mountain villages and painted churches inland.
  • Spa and pool days — the resort spas at Aphrodite Hills and the Paphos beach hotels.
  • Markets and tavernas — easy afternoons in Paphos old town and the surrounding villages.

Getting around & exploring

A hire car is the natural choice for a Cyprus golf trip — the Paphos courses are spread across the coast and into the hills, and self-driving lets you move easily between Aphrodite Hills, Minthis, Elea Estate and Secret Valley. Roads are good and well signposted, and Cyprus drives on the left, which UK visitors find familiar. If you would rather not drive, we can arrange private transfers to and from the courses. We will build the ground logistics into your itinerary so the daily run to the first tee is straightforward.

Getting there

Cyprus is served by two international airports, Paphos (PFO) and Larnaca (LCA), with Paphos the closer gateway for the golf around Aphrodite Hills and the wider Paphos cluster. Flights are arranged as a separate, ATOL-protected add-on to your holiday — we are happy to source them and fold them into the booking, or you can travel on your own arrangements. Either way, we will set out clear transfer timings from the airport to your hotel so the journey to your base is smooth.

Good to know

  • Flights are a separate add-on — Cyprus golf holidays are arranged ground-only; we can source ATOL-protected flights alongside your trip or work around your own.
  • Tailor-made, hand-priced — every itinerary is built around your dates, group and chosen courses; nothing here is off-the-peg.
  • Driving — Cyprus drives on the left; a hire car is the easiest way to reach the spread of courses, or we can arrange private transfers.
  • Currency — the euro is used across the Republic of Cyprus.
  • Season — spring and autumn give the most comfortable golf; summers are hot, winters mild but quieter.
  • Our credentials — we are ATOL (flights), PTS and IATA protected, and have arranged Cyprus golf since 1981.

Frequently asked questions

Golf holidays in Cyprus — answers to the questions our golfers ask most.

Where should I play golf in Cyprus?

PGA Cyprus at Aphrodite Hills is a must and the surrounding golf courses are maturing nicely and are well worth a day out.

Is it easy to get around in Cyprus?

Getting around Cyprus is straightforward, though a hire car is recommended if you want to explore beyond your resort. Most golf holidays are based in Paphos where the main courses — Aphrodite Hills and PGA National Cyprus — are both within 20 minutes. We include private transfers from the airport to your hotel and can arrange inter-course transfers as part of your package. Roads are well maintained, driving is on the left (same as the UK) and signage is in both Greek and English.

Is Cyprus good for families?

Cyprus is an excellent destination for family golf holidays. The island's reliable sunshine, calm clear Mediterranean waters and excellent resort facilities cater well to mixed groups. Aphrodite Hills Resort has a water park, tennis, spa and restaurants, meaning non-golfers and children are genuinely well catered for. The island is safe, English is widely spoken, and the relatively short flight from the UK (4.5 hours) makes it manageable with younger children. Many families extend their stay with beach time in the Paphos or Ayia Napa areas.

Can I cross between North and South Cyprus?

Yes, it is possible to cross between the Republic of Cyprus and Northern Cyprus at designated checkpoints. For golf holidays however, this is rarely relevant — all the main courses including Aphrodite Hills, PGA National Cyprus and Secret Valley are located in the south near Paphos, so you won't need to cross. Cyprus is a compact island and the golf region around Paphos is easily accessible from both Paphos Airport (15 minutes) and Larnaca Airport (90 minutes). We recommend focusing your stay in the Paphos area.

Are flights included?

Our golf holidays are arranged ground-only — hotel, golf and transfers. You can add flights through us, and those flights are ATOL protected as part of your booking.

How do golf holidays with Golf Planet Holidays work?

Every trip is tailor-made. Tell us your group, dates and the destinations you fancy, and we build a personal itinerary — hotel, golf and transfers — around them. There are no fixed packages to squeeze into; we shape the whole break to suit how your group likes to play.
