About Pearl Valley Golf Club
Pearl Valley is a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. It's a stunning layout stretching out in front of the magnificent clubhouse with a backdrop of the Simonsberg and Drakenstein mountains. The well-maintained course is flat with plenty of individual trees dotted around. Water hazards regularly come into play with several holes curving around a lake. You'll need a nice touch on the greens. If you are staying in Franschhoek, this is a must play. Ask us about the wonderful gastronomic guesthouses in Franschhoek.

Our take
If you are staying in Franschhoek this is the round to build a day around, a flat Jack Nicklaus Signature layout defended by water and greens that need a proper touch.
- Serious golfersNicklaus put the water exactly where you do not want it, with several holes bending around the lake. Hitting greens is only half the job, the putting surfaces need a genuinely good touch.
- Higher handicapsNot a single climb all round, so the walk costs you nothing, but the water punishes the same miss all day. Aim for the safe side of every green and take your medicine on the lake holes.
- Buddy tripsThe must-play for any group based in Franschhoek, and with the course this flat 36 holes in a day is realistic. The holes curving around the lake will decide most of your matches.
