Description
ABOUT THE COURSE
The Metropolitan golf course is a hidden gem tucked away in central Cape Town. The MET (as it is affectionally known by its members and visitors) originally opened in 1895. The Metropolitan Golf Club has gone through several reincarnations over its long history. The current layout was rebuilt in 2010 by South African Golf Course architect, Mark Müller after the course was closed in 2007 to make way for the imposing Cape Town Stadium. The course’s unusual and attractive design has 18 holes, each with separate tees, together with 14 world class greens, sharing nine fairways. Bent Grass greens and Kikuyu fairways ensure this parkland course is in spectacular condition.
