Golf Planet Holidays organised a fantastic golf trip to France for us. Everything was perfectly arranged, and the communication was excellent. Simon and Heather were incredibly helpful throughout. Highly recommended!

Beyond the golf

Life away from the course at Hotel Barriere Le Westminster

Walkable seaside resort town

The Westminster is 400 metres from the centre of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, and that shapes the evenings. Within walking distance there are 26 restaurants, five bars and seven cafés; Partouche is 600 metres away if anyone fancies a flutter after dinner. The Musée du Touquet sits 1.4 km off, with Maréis, the artisanal fishing centre, at 2.8 km and the Port de Plaisance d'Étaples-sur-Mer at 3 km. One honest note: the nearest named beaches, Le Poulier and Stella Plage, are just over two kilometres away, so a swim takes a short drive. Tell us who's coming and we'll match the base to your group.

Hotel Barriere Le Westminster: your questions answered

What is Hotel Barriere Le Westminster like?

It is a 1920s hotel that was fully renovated in 2020, and one of our most popular hotels. All room categories are generous in size, Le Pavillon restaurant has held a Michelin star for several years, and the Nuxe Spa adds five treatment rooms and an indoor pool. A generous buffet breakfast is included on our bed and breakfast packages.

Is the Westminster worth it for a golf holiday?

Yes, if you want a proper hotel stay alongside your golf rather than an on-course resort. It suits couples and groups who value a Michelin-starred dinner, a spa day off and a town centre within easy reach, just 0.4 km away. Your golf specialist books the tee times and arranges transfers between the hotel and the courses.

How much does a golf break at the Westminster cost?

Packages start from £645 (≈ €755) (≈ $865) (≈ CA$1,215) (≈ AU$1,235) (≈ NZ$1,485) (≈ CHF 695) (≈ kr 8,405) (≈ kr 8,375) (≈ kr 5,665) per person for three nights bed and breakfast with three rounds of golf. Green fees are built into the price, as with all Golf Planet Holidays packages. The final figure depends on your dates, room category and group size, so send an enquiry for an exact quote; it is free, with no payment and no obligation.

Does Hotel Barriere Le Westminster have a spa and pool?

Yes. The Nuxe Spa has five treatment rooms and an indoor pool, so non-playing partners are well looked after and there is somewhere to unwind between rounds. If you would like treatments on particular days, mention it when you enquire and your golf specialist can plan the trip around your tee times.

How close is the Westminster to the centre of Le Touquet?

Very close. The hotel sits 0.4 km from the heart of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, or a five iron away as we put it, so the centre of the resort is an easy walk after your round. If you are driving over rather than flying, parking at the hotel is secure.

Why book the Westminster through Golf Planet Holidays?

Frequently asked questions

Golf holidays in France — answers to the questions our golfers ask most.

How long is LeShuttle crossing time to France

The Eurotunnel LeShuttle from Folkestone to Calais takes about 35 minutes, which makes a self-drive trip genuinely easy for the Northern France golf resorts. Le Touquet, Hardelot and the courses around the Somme are roughly two to three hours on from Calais, so you can load the clubs, drive on and be on the first tee the same day, and on those breaks we can include the crossing in the price. For the south and southwest, such as Biarritz, the Riviera and Provence, most golfers fly into Nice, Marseille, Biarritz or Bordeaux and we arrange transfers on the ground.

How much does a golf holiday in France cost?

Golf holidays in France start from £235 (≈ €275) (≈ $315) (≈ CA$435) (≈ AU$445) (≈ NZ$535) (≈ CHF 255) (≈ kr 3,055) (≈ kr 3,045) (≈ kr 2,065) pp with Golf Planet Holidays. That is a hand-built ground package, and the final price depends on your hotel, the courses you play and the season.

When is the best time to play golf in France?

May, June, September and October are the best months, with comfortable temperatures and courses in peak condition. The south of France stays playable into late autumn.

Where should I play golf in France?

There are more than 700 golf courses in France. As first steps we would recommend Northern France. There are ten great courses here.  Chat with us about the various choices if you wish to venture further afield.

How many golf courses are there in France?

We feature 130 courses and 102 resorts across France including Saint Malo Golf Club and Sept Tours Golf Club. Your specialist matches the courses to your group's standard and budget.

Is it easy to get around in France?

Getting around France is straightforward. Self-driving is the most popular option — if you've come via Le Shuttle, you already have your car. Trains are excellent for city-to-city travel, particularly from Paris to Bordeaux (2 hours on the TGV). Within golf regions like the Algarve or Brittany, a hire car gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. We include all airport or station transfers in our packages and can arrange inter-course transfers, so you're never left without options.
