4.997 reviewsThanks Talia, glad we could finally get you back to Le Touquet! We look forward to arranging your next holiday. Simon and the team.
Golf Planet Holidays organised a fantastic golf trip to France for us. Everything was perfectly arranged, and the communication was excellent. Simon and Heather were incredibly helpful throughout. Highly recommended!
About Hardelot Les Pins Golf Club
It’s easy to see why Hardelot, Northern France is a popular choice with Golf Planet Holiday clients. The elegant members’ golf club is home to two great courses each with their own distinct identity and clubhouses. Les Pins is the older of the two golf courses at Hardelot and is just a mile from its sister course, Les Dunes, and 30 minutes from Le Touquet, the best known holiday resort in Northern France.
Hardelot Les Pins, designed by the revered Tom Simpson, is more than 80 years old and the original testing design has improved even more over time. It's a majestic course which takes you on an epic journey from the very first shot. The rough is penal and the bunkers look deceptively easy. Of course it lives up to its name with plenty of pine trees which often appear to be like magnets to your golf ball.
The clubhouse is traditional with a pleasant terrace for sunny days. Arrive early for a browse in the shop, particularly the sale rail.
The two Hardelot golf courses, Les Pins and Les Dunes, are just a short distance from the impressive selection of hotels in this small holiday town. The three-star Hotel du Parc, the two-star Le Regina and the three-star Les Jardins d’Hardelot are all to be recommended. There is a good selection of restaurants in the beach side town centre. Hardelot is just 30 minutes from Le Touquet and many golfers opt to stay there and travel to Hardelot for their golf games. It’s easy to see why Hardelot has been a popular short golf break destination for 40 years. To its everlasting credit Hardelot Golf Club does not rest on its laurels and each year brings further improvements to the courses and the clubhouses.
- Clubhouse with casual restaurant and bar
- Buggies
- Great golf shop
- Two kilometres from Hardelot Les Dunes
- Golf courses within 30 minutes include Le Touquet La Mer and La Foret and Wimereux
Our take
Tom Simpson courses are rare enough in France that Les Pins would justify the trip on the designer's name alone, and the golf lives up to the pedigree.
- Serious golfersThere is no easing in, the 1st is one of the two hardest holes you will face all day, and Simpson's questions keep coming until the 10th lands the other blow. Golf that makes you think from the opening drive.
- Higher handicapsKeep the driver between the pines and little here will frighten you. The walking is gentle, under 80 metres of climb across the round, and the elegant members' club setting is half the pleasure.
- Buddy tripsTwo courses with their own identities and clubhouses barely a mile apart make Hardelot a self-contained 36-hole day, with Le Touquet half an hour away for the evening.
Tell us who’s coming and how you like to play, and we’ll shape the right trip around you.
What you are actually facing
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 78 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 16 km/h, gusting to 48. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 9 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Tom Simpson.
The holes that will cost you. The 1st, the 10th and the 13th. The 13th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
