ABOUT THE GOLF COURSE

Bauge Pontigne is one of the best courses in The Loire and there are plenty to choose from.  Along with Sable Solesmes, it forms an oasis of high-quality where you’re going to play good golf and see gorgeous countryside.  It measures nearly 6500 yards off the Whites with a  fair Slope Rating of 130.  Laid out in a sort of snail shell arrangement, Bauge meanders through woodland.   It’s a mostly American-type layout with a touch of classic parkland.  With four holes featuring a heavy dose of water and plenty of bunkers, you might be apprehensive at first but the hazards are mostly visual and you’ll soon realise that Bauge is a very pretty and fair challenge.  The clubhouse serves hearty food.
