Travelling on your own shouldn’t mean playing on your own. Plenty of golfers come to us because their usual fourball can’t get away, or because they simply prefer the freedom of going solo and meeting people on the course. Either way, the golf in Costa Blanca and Murcia is made for it: short transfers, reliable sun, and a cluster of welcoming courses close enough together to fill a long weekend or a full week without ever feeling rushed.
We’re Golf Planet Holidays, a UK tailor-made golf specialist since 1981. We’ve built solo trips here from
Travel alone, play at your own pace
The quiet worry most solo golfers carry is turning up at an empty first tee in a foreign country. In practice it rarely plays out that way. If you want company, most courses here are happy to pair a single player with others on the day, so you go out alongside whoever’s on the tee sheet. If some mornings you’d genuinely prefer your own company and your own pace, a quieter round to yourself is just as easy. That part is the course’s decision on the day rather than something we arrange, but singles are common in this part of Spain and the welcome is friendly.
What we do take care of is everything around the golf: the tee times, the hotels, the transfers and the order of play. A tailor-made trip flexes around you, not the other way around, so the week fits exactly how much, and how sociably, you want to play.
The courses you'll play
This corner of Spain rewards a golfer who wants variety without long drives between rounds. La Finca Golf in Alicante is a generous, well-conditioned test that’s a pleasure to walk into on day one. La Torre Golf and Hacienda Riquelme bring the classic resort-course feel, immaculate and very playable, the sort of layouts where a chatty group quickly becomes a regular fourball for the week. Over in Murcia, El Valle Golf and Altorreal Golf add genuine character and a bit of bite, so the week builds rather than repeats.
We sequence these to match how often you want to play and how far you’re willing to travel between rounds, so a solo golfer chasing four rounds in five days and someone wanting golf every other day both get a trip that fits.

Where you'll stay
Your base matters more when you’re travelling solo; you want somewhere easy, lively and well-placed. In Murcia, the Occidental 7 Coronas and Tryp Rincon de Pepe put you within reach of the city’s bars and restaurants, which makes solo evenings far more enjoyable than a quiet resort on the edge of nowhere. Nearer Benidorm, the Villaitana Resort Golf keeps golf on the doorstep for golfers who’d rather not stray far between rounds.
We’ll match the hotel to the kind of trip you want, whether that’s lively and central or calm and golf-focused.
Booked properly, protected properly
Everything is arranged for you and billed in GBP, so there are no surprises in a foreign currency at the till. Your trip is ATOL protected, and your money is held in trust with PTS until you have travelled, which for a solo traveller booking a meaningful trip on your own is exactly the reassurance you want.
For our friends booking from the US, the structure works just as cleanly: we can arrange flights as an ATOL-protected add-on, and the strength of the dollar against the pound often makes a week of Costa Blanca golf, hotel and tee times genuinely strong value compared with a comparable trip closer to home. Tell us your home airport and dates and we’ll build the whole thing around you.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a solo golf holiday in Costa Blanca or Murcia cost?
Solo golf holidays here start from
Will I have people to play golf with?
If you want company, yes, very likely. Most courses here, including La Finca Golf, La Torre Golf and El Valle Golf, will pair a single golfer with others on the day, so you go out alongside fellow players. If you’d rather have the peace, a quieter tee time often means a round to yourself. It’s the course’s call on the day rather than something we arrange, but singles are common and well looked after here.
Is my money safe when I book a solo trip?
Yes. Golf Planet Holidays is ATOL protected and your money is held in trust with PTS until you have travelled. For a solo traveller that’s important reassurance: nothing is at risk between booking and your first tee shot.
Can you arrange flights from the US as well as the UK?
Yes. For US-based golfers we can add ATOL-protected flights to your tailor-made package. With a favourable dollar-to-pound rate, a week of golf, hotel and arranged tee times across Costa Blanca and Murcia often represents excellent value. Just tell us your departure airport and dates.
