About Altorreal Golf
Altorreal Golf course in Murcia, south east Spain, is designed by the popular golf architect Dave Thomas. Each of the 18 holes on this par 71 course is different, testing all parts of your golf game. Watch out in particular for the water hazards on the back nine. Constructed in 1994 the course weaves across the hills surrounding Murcia.

Our take
Every hole at Altorreal is different, and with the water saved for the back nine the round is won or lost after the turn.
- Serious golfersBank shots early. The front nine offers the scoring chances, then the water starts, eight hazards in all with the back nine holding most of them, so pick conservative lines coming home.
- Higher handicapsWarm up properly, the practice facilities are extensive, then enjoy a course that gives you room off the tee. Just budget for the back nine costing most people a ball or two to the water.
- Buddy tripsMade for matchplay. No single style of game dominates because every hole asks something new, and with the water packed into the back nine, matches that look settled at the turn have a habit of flipping.
