What does a group golf holiday in Northern France cost? From £495 per person, billed in GBP. The exact price depends on your group size, the hotel you choose, how many rounds you play and your travel dates, but a typical 8-16 player trip on the Opal Coast starts at that figure and is quoted to you in full before you commit a penny.
Who actually organises the trip? One named Golf Planet Holidays specialist handles your entire group: every tee time across courses like Le Touquet, Hardelot and Belle Dune, the rooming list across your chosen hotel, and all ground transfers. You get a single point of contact rather than a call centre, so the person who knows your fourballs is the person who answers the phone. We also run hosted, escorted group tours where one of our team travels with you.
Why play Northern France instead of somewhere further afield? It’s close, it’s quick and the golf is genuinely first-class. The Le Touquet and Hardelot courses sit among the best in France, the food and wine are a trip in themselves, and the short transfer times mean more golf and less travelling. For larger groups it’s far easier to coordinate than a long-haul destination, and every booking is ATOL Protected with your money held in trust until you’ve travelled.
Organising a golf trip for sixteen mates is a second job. Somebody has to chase everyone’s deposit, juggle the tee sheet so the fourballs actually work, sort who’s sharing with whom, and make sure the minibus turns up at the right airport. If that somebody is you, this is the part where you get to hand it over. Northern France is the most under-rated group golf destination on the UK’s doorstep, and at Golf Planet Holidays one named specialist takes the lot off your plate.
We’ve been arranging tailor-made golf trips since 1981, and groups of 8 to 16 are exactly our wheelhouse. A short hop across the Channel puts you on the fast, springy links and pine-lined fairways of the Opal Coast, from £495 per person. You make the foursomes; we make everything else disappear.
One specialist, your whole group, zero admin
The reason group trips fall apart is logistics, not golf. Sixteen players means sixteen sets of preferences, a tee sheet that has to be threaded so nobody’s left standing on the first tee, a rooming list that keeps the snorers together, and transfers that move everyone at once. We give you one named specialist who owns every moving part of that.
They build your tee times across the courses you want to play, set the rooming exactly as your group decides, and arrange the transfers so the coach is waiting when you land. You send one email; they reply with one plan. When a player drops out three weeks before, or two more want to join, you call the same person who already knows your trip. That’s the whole point of doing it tailor-made rather than booking a package off a shelf.
Prefer a hands-off trip entirely? Our hosted group tours send a Golf Planet Holidays host to travel with you, smooth out the on-the-ground details and keep the whole thing running so even the organiser gets to switch off and play.
The courses: Le Touquet, Hardelot and Belle Dune
The Opal Coast packs a remarkable run of golf into a short stretch of dunes and pine forest. Your specialist mixes and matches these to suit your group’s appetite and ability:
- Le Touquet — La Mer. A genuine seaside links rolling through the dunes, exposed to the Channel wind and consistently rated among the finest courses in France. The headline round of any Le Touquet trip.
- Le Touquet — La Forêt. The sheltered, tree-lined counterpoint to La Mer, threading through pine and silver birch. A fairer, more forgiving test that big mixed-handicap groups love.
- Hardelot — Les Pins. A classic forest course winding through tall pines, all tactical doglegs and quiet beauty — the kind of round your group will still be talking about over dinner.
- Hardelot — Les Dunes. The more modern, open links-influenced layout at Hardelot, a strong complement to Les Pins for a two-round day.
- Belle Dune, Fort Mahon. A wild, natural course laid through dunes and pines further down the coast — rugged, memorable and a brilliant change of scenery to round out an itinerary.
Two rounds a day, one big round and an afternoon in town, or a steady round-a-day rhythm — you tell us the shape, we build the schedule around your group.
Where our specialists would stay in Northern France
Where you'll stay
Your base sets the tone for the whole trip, and we work with hotels that suit a golf group of this size:
- Hotel Barrière Le Westminster, Le Touquet. The grande dame of Le Touquet — a landmark address in the heart of town, ideal for groups who want a touch of occasion, good dining and an evening stroll to the bars and restaurants.
- Red Fox, Le Touquet. A relaxed, well-located option in Le Touquet that keeps the trip easy on the budget without taking you out of the action — popular with groups watching the per-head cost.
- Best Western Hermitage, Montreuil-sur-Mer. A characterful base in the beautiful walled town of Montreuil-sur-Mer, a short drive inland, for groups who like the idea of an atmospheric old town in the evenings.
Your specialist sets the rooming list exactly as your group wants it — twins, singles, who’s next to whom — so nobody’s sorting it out in the lobby at midnight.
Protected, and easy from the US too
Every Golf Planet Holidays trip is ATOL Protected, and your money is held in trust with PTS until you’ve travelled — so the deposit your group pays in is genuinely safeguarded, not spent before you’ve teed off. For a group organiser collecting money from fifteen other people, that matters: you’re not the one carrying the risk.
Travelling from the US? Northern France works beautifully as part of a wider European golf trip — fly into Paris or London and you’re a short transfer from the Opal Coast. We quote your trip in GBP, which has often worked in favour of dollar-holding groups, and we’ll happily build the France leg around your transatlantic flights rather than the other way round. Flights aren’t included as standard, but we’ll advise on the simplest routing for your group and slot the golf and ground arrangements neatly around it.

Frequently asked questions
How many players do you arrange for?
We specialise in groups of 8 to 16, the classic golf-society and corporate size, though we can quote for larger or smaller parties too. Tell your specialist the headcount and they’ll build the tee sheet, rooming and transfers to fit.
Can different ability levels play together?
Yes. That’s exactly why the mix of courses on the Opal Coast works so well — we can pair a demanding round like Le Touquet La Mer or Hardelot Les Pins with a more forgiving, sheltered test like Le Touquet La Forêt, so every handicap in your group gets a fair and enjoyable trip.
What's included in the from-£495 price?
That from-price covers your core golf-and-stay arrangement on the Opal Coast. Because every trip is tailor-made, your named specialist confirms exactly what’s included — rounds, hotel, transfers — in a full written quote before you pay anything. Flights are arranged separately as an add-on.
Is my group's money safe?
Yes. Golf Planet Holidays is ATOL Protected and your money is held in trust with PTS until you’ve travelled. As the organiser collecting funds from your group, you can book with confidence that those deposits are protected.
