The freedom of the open road awaits you on a golf holiday to France. And there’s no reason to limit yourself to one destination.
It’s the easiest way to enjoy a golf holiday abroad – throw everything in the car and head off. Everything can be organised to suit your own preferences. Whether it is staying in a romantic chateau playing picturesque golf or playing at some of France’s top golf courses and enjoying fine dining afterwards.
You can pack as many golf balls as you like, ensuring through the gods of golf, that you return with the same ball you start off with on the first round.
You can even take your trolley, if you are so inclined, but of course this means less room for goodies to bring back to the UK.
Driving in France
Driving around in France is generally smooth. Do make sure you have the road safety kit required under French law, including a warning triangle and high vis jackets for all passengers.
Toll roads are easy to use with the barriers swiping credit cards to speed you on your way. There are plenty of electric car chargers at the service stations now. We can advise you the best hotels if you require car charging points.
Of course, the most important question is where should you head to? At Golf Planet Holidays we just love organising bespoke tours for fellow golfers. Some like to wend their way through France on their way to Southern Europe. While others want to explore the fantastic golf destinations France wants to offer and explore this interesting country as they go.
We work closely with many wonderful play and stay resorts throughout France. We also partner with the Lucien Barriere group of hotels and golf courses strategically placed around the country to ensure you can enjoy several of their resorts on one memorable golf holiday.
Where to begin?
You could start at the Le Westminster at Le Touquet in Northern France. This elegant five star hotel is in the heart of this chic resort. There is nothing nicer than sitting on the hotel terrace after a round of golf at nearby Le Touquet, watching the world go by.
From here you could head along the Normandy coastline to Deauville, where a choice of excellent Lucien Barriere hotels await you.
For location, location, location there is little to beat the five-star Le Normandy with the beach on one side and the sophisticated town on the other.
If you want to be next to the first tee, stay at L’Hotel du Golf. The four-star hotel is surrounded by 27 excellent golf holes with other good golf courses close at hand.
Keep on going down the road
But why stop there? You can stick with the coastal theme and enjoy some relaxing golf days in La Baule, Southern Brittany or tranquil Dinard in Northern Brittany, playing the historic Dinard Golf Links.
The presence of Lucien Barriere hotels in all these beachside towns ensures a high level of accommodation throughout your stay with very enjoyable golf courses, within easy reach. We are delighted to recommend golf courses depending on what sort of challenge you are seeking.
A personalised golf holiday itinerary means you can enjoy all that France has to offer at your own speed and comfort. Start your journey with Golf Planet Holidays.

Our experience with Simon and Golf Planet Holidays was terrific! Simon was very accommodating and responsive to all of our requests. I would certainly recommend Simon for any Le Touquet trips and we will be using Simon again next year for sure!
Played Bondues near Lille..two great courses, in great condition despite the drought we have suffered over the summer. Stayed in Lille, itself near the Grande Place which was lively and fun..recommended!
