Group Golf Holidays in Italy

Italy By The Golf Planet Holidays Team · Golf-travel specialists since 1981 · Published 1 June 2026 At a glance What is the best way to organise a golf holiday for a group of friends or colleagues in Italy? Italy

Getting eight to sixteen golfers to Italy sounds like a logistical headache, the kind of job that lands on one well-meaning organiser and slowly eats their evenings. It doesn’t have to be. At Golf Planet Holidays we hand your group to a single named specialist who owns the whole trip: the tee times, the rooming list, the transfers from the airport to the first tee, and the running order of who plays where. You make one phone call, send one set of names, and we do the threading.

We’ve been arranging tailor-made golf trips since 1981, and Italy has quietly become one of our favourite places to send a group. Volcanic fairways under Etna, Tuscan hills around Siena, the cliff-edge drama of Sicily’s south coast, and the wild beauty of Puglia, Sardinia and Salento. Group golf holidays in Italy start from £350 per person, and every penny is ATOL Protected with your money held in trust until you’ve travelled. Tell us your dates and your numbers, and we’ll build the rest around you.

One specialist, your whole group sorted

The hardest part of any group golf trip isn’t the golf. It’s the coordination, the rooming requests, the friend who wants a single, the four-ball pairings, the transfer that has to wait for the late flight. When you book a group golf holiday in Italy with us, none of that lands on you.

Your named Golf Planet Holidays specialist becomes the group’s single point of contact. We hold your tee-time blocks at the right time of day, build the rooming list exactly how you want it, arrange private transfers between airport, hotel and courses, and keep the running order straight across every day of play. If twelve becomes fourteen, or two players want to switch courses, you message one person and it’s handled.

We work on enquiry rather than instant checkout for exactly this reason: a group of 8-16 deserves an itinerary built around its real needs, not a fixed package. You tell us the standard, the budget and the mood of the trip, and we shape it. And because we’re ATOL Protected with your money held in trust through PTS until you’ve travelled, the organiser carries none of the financial worry that usually comes with collecting deposits from a dozen friends.

Where your group plays: real Italian golf, region by region

Italy gives a group genuine variety, and we build trips around resorts and courses we know personally.

Sicily is where many groups start. Verdura Golf & Spa Resort is the headline act, a sweeping coastal estate where the Verdura course runs holes right along the Mediterranean. Inland and higher up, Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & Spa sits in the foothills of the volcano, and Il Picciolo Etna is a memorable, characterful round with Etna as your backdrop. A group can base in one and play the other for real contrast in a single trip.

Tuscany suits groups who want golf wrapped in food, wine and scenery. La Bagnaia Golf & Spa Resort near Siena gives you a handsome resort base, rolling Tuscan golf, and a spa for the non-golfers or the recovery days.

Further afield we can build in San Domenico in Puglia, the parkland and links-edged Acaya Golf Club in Salento, and Is Molas in Sardinia, a longstanding championship course on the island’s south coast. Whether your group wants one base and easy days, or a multi-region tour, we route it so the travel is sensible and the golf is the star.

Where our specialists would stay in Italy

Hosted group tours, or run it your own way

Some groups want a turn-key experience with someone on the ground. For those, we can arrange hosted and escorted group tours, where a host travels with you to manage tee-time check-ins, transfers and the day-to-day running order so even your organiser gets to switch off and just play. Other groups prefer to be self-sufficient once they land, and only want the trip built and booked. Both are entirely normal, and we’ll set yours up whichever way suits.

Either way you’re choosing the format, the courses and the standard. We just make sure the logistics are invisible.

Flying to Italy, and what US groups should know

For UK groups, Italy is an easy reach. Sicily, Tuscany, Puglia and Sardinia are all served by direct or one-stop flights from the major UK airports, and we’ll line up group transfers to match your arrival so nobody’s standing around with their clubs.

For US groups, Italy is one of the best-value golf escapes in Europe right now, particularly with a strong dollar against the euro and the green fees here sitting well below comparable resort golf in the States. We bill in GBP and arrange the ground experience, the courses, resorts, rooming and transfers as a complete package; flights are an add-on we can advise on, and we’ll help you build the trip around your transatlantic connections into Catania, Palermo, Florence, Bari or Cagliari. From £350 per person for the golf and ground arrangements, it’s a genuinely compelling trip to put in front of a group.

Frequently asked questions

How many golfers can travel as a group?

Our group golf holidays in Italy are ideal for 8-16 players, the sweet spot for friends’ trips, society outings and company breaks. We can arrange smaller and larger groups too, just tell us your numbers and we’ll build around them. Whatever the size, you get one named specialist handling tee times, rooming and transfers.

How much does a group golf holiday in Italy cost?

Prices start from £350 per person, billed in GBP. The final figure depends on your chosen resorts and courses (for example Verdura Golf & Spa Resort, Picciolo Etna or La Bagnaia near Siena), the time of year, room standard and how many rounds you want. As an enquiry-based, tailor-made specialist, we price the actual trip you want rather than a fixed package, so just send us your dates and numbers for a quote.

Is my group's money protected?

Yes. Golf Planet Holidays is ATOL Protected, and your money is held in trust with PTS until you have travelled. That matters even more for a group, where one organiser is often collecting deposits from a dozen people. Your funds are safe right up to the moment you’re on the course.

Can you arrange a hosted or escorted tour for our group?

We can. For groups who want a fully managed experience, we arrange hosted group tours where a host travels with you to handle tee-time check-ins, transfers and the daily running order. If you’d rather be independent once you arrive, we’ll simply build and book the trip. Both options are available, just let your specialist know which you prefer.
