South of France

You know how this usually goes. You float the idea of a society trip, everyone is enthusiastic for about a week, and then it lands squarely on you: the spreadsheet, the chasing for deposits, the room lists, the bloke who pulls out three days before. Organising a golf society trip is thankless work right up until the moment someone else does it for you. That is exactly what we are here for.

Golf Planet Holidays has been arranging tailor-made golf trips for UK societies since 1981. We build the whole thing around your group of 12 to 24 players in the South of France, from limestone fairways under Provençal pine to the polished resort courses near the coast, starting from £495 per person. Group rates, the organiser often playing free, and the option of a hosted host who travels with you and runs the logistics on the ground. You make the calls on a sunny terrace. We do the rest.

The South of France courses your society will actually want to play

The South of France gives a society real variety without long transfers between rounds, which keeps the group together and the days flowing. We build itineraries around courses our societies come back for:

  • Servanes, Mouries at Chateau de Servanes — a flat, walkable parkland framed by olive groves and the Alpilles, kind to higher handicappers and a relaxed opener for day one.
  • Pont Royal, Mallemort — a Seve Ballesteros design with bold elevation changes and Provençal drama that gives your better players something to talk about over dinner.
  • Saumane — a characterful test winding through the hills, the kind of course that produces the stories your society retells for years.
  • Nimes Campagne and Nimes Vacquerolles — two contrasting Nimes courses, one classic and tree-lined, one with sweeping views, ideal for a two-round day or splitting a larger group across tee times.

Mix and match across the week, and we handle every tee sheet, buggy and start time so nobody in your group has to.

Where your society stays: three bases, one easy week

Your hotel sets the tone of the whole trip, so we anchor your week to a base that suits your society’s style and budget.

Chateau de Servanes, Les Baux de Provence — golf on the doorstep and a genuine Provençal estate feel, perfect for a society that wants to roll out of bed and onto the first tee. Domaine de Saint Endreol, Le Muy — a relaxed resort with its own course, spa and easy evenings, well placed for groups who want a bit of everything. Terre Blanche, Tourrettes — the premium choice, two championship courses and five-star comfort for a society marking a big anniversary or simply doing it properly.

Whichever you choose, we arrange transfers, the dinner reservations, the welcome drinks and the bar tab structure if you want one. You tell us the vibe; we match the venue.

Hosted and escorted options: hand the clipboard to us

The biggest favour you can do yourself as an organiser is to stop being the tour rep the moment you land. With a hosted or escorted society trip, a Golf Planet Holidays representative can travel with your group, manage tee times, transfers and any on-the-ground hiccups, and free you up to do the thing you organised the trip for in the first place: play golf and enjoy your mates.

It also takes the awkwardness out of the money. Collecting from 12 to 24 players is a job in itself, and you should not be the one carrying the risk. Every Golf Planet Holidays trip is ATOL Protected, with your society’s money held securely in trust with PTS until you have travelled — so funds are ring-fenced, not spent in advance, and protected for the whole group right up to the day you fly home.

How it works, and why specialists make society trips painless

It starts with one enquiry, not a checkout. Tell us roughly when you want to go, how many players, and the kind of week you have in mind — relaxed and social, or a serious order-of-merit battle. We come back with a tailor-made itinerary and a clear price in GBP, built for your numbers, with your organiser’s place factored in.

From there we handle the courses, the hotel, the transfers, the tee times and the small print. You approve it, share it with your group, and turn up. After more than four decades arranging golf trips, we have made every booking a society could throw at us, which is precisely why yours will feel effortless. Enquire today and we will put your South of France society trip together, from £495 per person.

Frequently asked questions

How many players do we need for a society trip and group rates?

Our society trips to the South of France are built for groups of 12 to 24 players, which is the sweet spot for group rates and for the organiser playing free or at a reduced rate. Smaller or larger groups can often be accommodated too — just tell us your numbers when you enquire and we will confirm what is possible and what it does to the per-head price.

Are flights included in the £495 per person price?

Golf Planet Holidays trips are ground-based and tailor-made, so the from-£495 price covers your golf and accommodation arrangement. Flights to the South of France are an ATOL-protected add-on we are happy to arrange alongside, or you can book your own and we will time everything around your arrival. Either way, you get one clear GBP price and one point of contact.

Can different handicaps in our society all enjoy the same trip?

Yes, and that is where the course mix matters. We pair gentler, walkable layouts like Servanes at Chateau de Servanes with bolder tests such as Pont Royal and Saumane, so higher handicappers have a relaxed day and your low handicappers get a real challenge. We can also split a larger group across courses like Nimes Campagne and Nimes Vacquerolles on the same day to keep everyone moving.

Is our money safe if something goes wrong before we travel?

It is. Every trip is ATOL Protected and your society’s money is held in trust with PTS until you have travelled, meaning your funds are ring-fenced rather than spent in advance. For an organiser collecting deposits and balances from a dozen or more players, that protection is one of the main reasons to book through a specialist rather than piecing a trip together yourself.
