About Nimes Campagne Golf Club
The most respected golf course in Languedoc and well worth the drive if you’re staying in nearby Provence. Nimes Campagne is a very subtle but welcoming design cut through slightly undulating woodland about 15 minutes south of Nimes.
Several time host to the European Tour, Bernhard Langer owns the course record of 65 from a par of 72 and just over 6600 yards off the white tees. The course is terrific from start to finish.
The beautiful clubhouse provides the finishing touch and the food and setting are worthy of a visit even by non-golfers.

Our take
The most respected course in Languedoc has hosted the European Tour several times, and Bernhard Langer's course record of 65 tells you how much precision it takes to go low here.
- Serious golfersAt just over 6,600 yards off the whites it will not overpower you; it out-thinks you. The subtlety through the trees is where tour players earned their scores, and where yours will leak.
- Higher handicapsWater only turns up on three holes and the walking is level all round. It is a subtle course rather than a punishing one, so sensible golf keeps the card alive.
- SocietiesA flat, easy walk through lovely woodland with a genuinely beautiful clubhouse waiting at the end. If your group plays one course in Languedoc, make it this one.

What you are actually facing
The wind. The wind is usually northerly, averaging 12 km/h, gusting to 38. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 3 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Léonard Morandi and Donald Harradine.
Terrain and prevailing-weather data, read hole by hole. It is our own assessment of how the course plays, not an official course or slope rating.
