You know how it goes. You volunteered, or were volunteered, to sort this year’s society trip, and now there are 18 WhatsApp messages about tee times, three blokes who haven’t paid, and a hotel that won’t confirm a group rate over email. Organising a golf society trip is a thankless job, right up until the moment someone else does the heavy lifting and you get to simply turn up and play.
That’s where we come in. Golf Planet Holidays has been arranging tailor-made golf trips for UK societies since 1981, and Northern France is one of the easiest, best-value escapes on our books. A short hop across the Channel, championship links and forest courses, proper hotels, and group prices that work whether you’re 12 or 24 strong. Trips start from
Why Northern France works for societies
For a UK society, Northern France hits a sweet spot that few destinations match. It’s close, it’s familiar, and it punches well above its travel time. The golf is the star: Le Touquet’s La Foret winds through pine and silver birch, while La Mer is a true links laid out among the dunes, regularly ranked among the best in France. Down the coast, Hardelot’s Les Pins and Les Dunes give you two contrasting tests on one site, and Belle Dune at Fort Mahon adds a wild, rolling dune course that always gets the group talking at dinner.
Crucially for a society of 12 to 24, it scales. You can fill a tee sheet across two or three courses without anyone feeling shortchanged, and the towns, Le Touquet and Montreuil-sur-Mer, have the restaurants and bars to keep the evenings as memorable as the rounds.
Where you'll stay
Your base sets the tone, and we match it to your group. The Hotel Barriere Le Westminster in Le Touquet is the grand option, a landmark address with the comfort and service to make the trip feel like an occasion. The Red Fox, also in Le Touquet, is the relaxed, sociable choice, well placed for the town and easy on the budget, which keeps the per-person price down without losing quality. A little inland, the Best Western Hermitage in the walled town of Montreuil-sur-Mer offers something with more character for groups who like their evenings with a bit of local flavour.
Whichever you choose, we negotiate the group rate so you don’t have to, and we hold rooms together so your society isn’t scattered across three floors.
Where our specialists would stay in Northern France
We do the thankless bit
The reason societies come back to us year after year is simple: we take the admin off your hands. One point of contact, one GBP price, one tee-sheet that actually works. We coordinate the courses, the hotel, the transfers and the running order, and we build in the group rates so the savings land where they should, on the per-person cost. On most group bookings the organiser plays free, and if you’d rather not lift a finger on the ground, we can arrange a hosted or escorted trip with a representative handling the day-to-day.
Behind all of it sits the protection that matters. Golf Planet Holidays is ATOL Protected, and your society’s money is held in trust with PTS until you’ve travelled, so the kitty everyone chipped into is safe until the wheels are up. Tell us your numbers, your dates and roughly what you want to spend, and we’ll come back with a plan you can put to the group.

We booked 2 nights at The Westminster with three rounds of golf. Hotel was brilliant cannot be faulted. Both courses at Hardelot and then Les Dunes were superb. Simon and Heather at Golf planet spent a huge amount of time on our booking for 13 and…
Our experience with Simon and Golf Planet Holidays was terrific! Simon was very accommodating and responsive to all of our requests. I would certainly recommend Simon for any Le Touquet trips and we will be using Simon again next year for sure!
Played Bondues near Lille..two great courses, in great condition despite the drought we have suffered over the summer. Stayed in Lille, itself near the Grande Place which was lively and fun..recommended!
Frequently asked questions
How many players do you need for a society group rate?
Our Northern France society packages are built for groups of 12 to 24, which is the sweet spot for filling tee times across courses like Le Touquet La Mer, Hardelot Les Pins and Belle Dune. Group rates typically improve as numbers rise, and on most bookings the organiser plays free. Tell us your headcount and we’ll confirm the exact rate for your group.

Is my society's money protected?
Yes. Golf Planet Holidays is ATOL Protected, and all monies are held in trust with PTS until you have travelled. That means the funds your members pay in are safeguarded right up until the trip takes place, which matters when you’re collecting a kitty from 20-odd players.
Do you arrange flights, or is it ground-only?
Northern France is easily reached by ferry or the Channel Tunnel, so most societies travel by coach or car, and we arrange the ground package, hotels, golf, transfers, as a tailor-made trip in GBP. If you’d prefer to fly, flights can be added as an ATOL-protected option. Just tell us how you’d like to travel and we’ll build it in.
