What golfers say about Spain
4.997 reviewsIf you are going to play golf, there's nothing better than playing in the sunshine so my wife and I had an item on our bucket list to take a month driving around the Iberian peninsula playing golf, staying at good hotels and eating well! …
We recently used Golf planet Holidays for our annual golf trip to Spain, I can honestly say that the service provided was second to none, an absolutely first class experience.. well done the team at Golf planet holidays..
About La Cala – Campo America Golf Course
La Cala - Campo America is the most challenging of the three La Cala golf courses. Positioning your shot is vital at Campo America and we would recommend going down a club or two at the tee. The challenge doesn't stop there as the contoured greens are protected by deep bunkers. You can always take in the wonderful views if everything is not going to plan.

Our take
Campo America is the hardest of La Cala's three courses and it does not pretend otherwise, with deep bunkers, contoured greens and water waiting on nine holes.
- Serious golfersTake a club less off the tee and think two shots ahead; position is everything here. Good cards tend to come unstuck at the 7th and again at the 15th, so plan those holes before you reach them.
- Higher handicapsThis is the La Cala course to treat with respect. Deep bunkers, contoured greens and water on nine holes will punish an off day, so play Europa first and save America for when your swing shows up.
- SocietiesWith Asia and Europa next door you have a proper 54 hole base, and America makes the natural decider on the final day. Take buggies; it climbs all round and nobody wants to walk it after two days of golf.
Tell us who’s coming and how you like to play, and we’ll shape the right trip around you.
What you are actually facing
The walk. Hilly — we would take a buggy. 213 metres of climb over eighteen holes.
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 9 km/h, gusting to 36. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 9 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Cabell B. Robinson.
The holes that will cost you. The 15th, the 7th and the 9th. The 18th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
