Mallorca

You already know the truth of it: organising a golf society trip is one of the most thankless jobs in the club. You chase deposits, juggle who’s in and who’s dropped out, wrangle tee times across three courses, and somehow you’re still the one blamed when a buggy doesn’t turn up. Then you hand over your card and hope the money’s safe. It doesn’t have to be like that.

Golf Planet Holidays has been arranging tailor-made golf trips for UK societies since 1981, and Mallorca is one of our favourite islands to send a group of 12 to 24 players. We build the whole thing around your group, from £280 (≈ €325) (≈ $365) (≈ CA$525) (≈ AU$535) (≈ NZ$645) (≈ CHF 295) per person, secure the group rates, sort the tee sheet, and take the admin off your hands entirely. On most society trips the organiser plays free, and hosted options are available if you’d like a Golf Planet representative on the ground to run the show.

Why Mallorca works for a society of 12-24

Mallorca is close, it’s reliable, and it packs a genuinely strong spread of golf into a short transfer radius — which matters when you’re moving a coach of 24 players between courses each morning. The island gives you championship layouts, dramatic coastal holes and gentler tracks for the higher handicappers in your fourballs, so nobody in the society feels out of their depth.

For a group this size you want a base that can take everyone under one roof and a fleet of courses within easy reach. Mallorca delivers exactly that: short transfers, sociable resort bars to settle the day’s bets in, and enough variety across the rota that the same four don’t play the same course twice. From the laid-back east coast around Son Servera and Cala Millor to the bay views at Port d’Alcudia, it’s an island built for a group golf trip with a long lunch at the end of it.

The resorts and courses we build your trip around

We don’t send societies to anonymous beds. Your Mallorca trip is built around real venues we know and book regularly. For the base, you might stay at Pula Golf Resort in Son Servera — golf on the doorstep, which makes the morning logistics effortless for a big group — or the upscale Zafiro Palace Palmanova, or the well-priced and sociable Hipotels Cala Millor Park on the east coast.

For the golf, your rota is drawn from the island’s best: Pula Golf Club for its mature, tournament-tested layout; Canyamel Golf near Artà, carved through a dramatic valley; Capdepera Golf in the rolling hills of the north-east; Alcanada Golf at Port d’Alcudia, widely rated the finest course on the island with that famous lighthouse on the bay; and Son Gual Golf near Palma, a polished championship test close to the airport. We’ll mix the rota to suit your society’s handicap spread and the bets you like to run.

Where our specialists would stay in Mallorca

The admin, the money, and your protection

This is where a specialist earns its keep. We handle the tee-time bookings, the buggy lists, the group transfers, the rooming, the dinner reservations and the inevitable late changes when two players drop out and one more wants in. You collect the names; we do the rest. Group rates are built in and improve with numbers, and on the majority of society trips the organiser travels free as a thank-you for herding everyone in the first place.

Every Golf Planet Holidays trip is ATOL Protected, and your money is held in trust with PTS until you’ve actually travelled — so the society’s deposits and balances are never spent before you’ve set foot on the island. You’re billed in pounds, with no surprise currency games. If you’d rather not run the trip yourself at all, ask about our hosted and escorted group tours, where a Golf Planet representative travels with you to manage tee times, transfers and any on-the-ground hiccups.

Frequently asked questions

How many players do we need for a society trip?

We arrange Mallorca society trips comfortably for groups of 12 to 24 players, with group rates that improve as your numbers grow. Smaller or larger parties can be quoted too — just tell us your headcount when you enquire.

Does the organiser really play for free?

On the majority of our society trips, yes — the organiser typically travels and plays free as a thank-you for pulling the group together. The exact free-place threshold depends on group size and the package, and we’ll confirm it clearly in your tailor-made quote.

Which courses will we play?

Your rota is drawn from Mallorca’s best, including Pula Golf Club, Canyamel Golf near Artà, Capdepera Golf, Alcanada Golf at Port d’Alcudia and Son Gual Golf near Palma. We mix the courses to suit your society’s handicaps and how many rounds you want.

Is our money protected?

Yes. Every trip is ATOL Protected and your payments are held in trust with PTS until you have travelled, so the society’s deposits and balances are safe. You’re billed in GBP throughout, and flights can be added as an ATOL-protected option.
