About Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Club
Menaggio and Cadenabbia Golf Club is in a perfect position on Lake Como. It's the second oldest golf course in Italy and has had several updates since it opened in 1907. The latest have brought the par to 70. It's short but requires precision. The fairways are narrow and the course is visually appealing. It's a chance to play and enjoy a piece of Italian history.

Our take
The second oldest club in Italy is a short, narrow par 70 that quietly punishes anyone reaching for driver out of habit.
- Serious golfersLeave the driver in the bag more often than feels natural. Par 70, tight fairways, barely a whisper of wind, so every score is earned with placement, and the old J.H. Taylor bones still show.
- Higher handicapsShort in yardage and sheltered, which flatters, but those narrow fairways will find out a crooked driver quickly. Take one club less and play up the middle, and you will have a lovely day.
- CouplesPlaying a course that opened in 1907 on Lake Como is as much about the occasion as the golf. Short enough not to eat the whole day, with time left for the lake.

What you are actually facing
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 3 km/h. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 2 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. J.H. Taylor; redesigned by John Harris (1965).
