About Cabot Bordeaux Golf Club
Cabot Bordeaux near Bordeaux in south-west France is unique in Europe. Formerly known as Medoc Golf Club, it's the only resort where both courses rate among the Top 100 in mainland Europe. To complete the package there is a fine hotel on site and the resort is surrounded by world-class vineyards and chateaux.
The property showcases two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by acclaimed architects Bill Coore and Rod Whitman. While different in design, the two courses are equally challenging offering plenty to work on if you want to immerse yourself in this excellent resort.
Cabot Bordeaux, like an increasing number of leading clubs, is deliberately cutting down its use of water and pesticides. This sometimes leads to a dry appearance by the end of summer. If you fancy things a bit more plush and lush, you can play from October through to late July and the appearance will be more to your liking.

Our take
Nowhere else in mainland Europe gives you two Top 100 courses, a fine hotel and the Medoc vineyards inside one resort, which makes Cabot Bordeaux the obvious anchor for a Bordeaux golf trip.
- Serious golfersTwo Coore and Whitman championship courses, both ranked in mainland Europe's Top 100, on ground so flat the architecture has to do all the defending. Play both and argue about which is better afterwards.
- SocietiesThe complete group base: 36 holes, a fine hotel on site and not a metre of climb worth mentioning, so everybody walks and nobody plays the same course twice in two days.
- CouplesGolf in the morning, the chateaux and vineyards of the Medoc in the afternoon, and one unpack for the whole stay because the hotel sits inside the resort.
- Non-golfersThe vineyards and chateaux of the Medoc surround the resort and Bordeaux is within reach, so a non-playing partner gets proper days out rather than hours by the pool.
