About L’Amiraute Golf Club
L’Amiraute Golf Club offers the most modern golf design in Coastal Normandy, set inland on a vast plateau. L'Amiraute's main 18-hole course features lots of water and huge greens. It’s quite a generous course but you need some length if playing off the back tees.
As well as the normal hazards, there are huge statues created by Jean-Pierre Rives, the French rugby icon turned artist, to distract you.
This is a fun and fair golf course in constantly good condition. There’s also a nine-hole floodlit course on which we can arrange for a night competition for 16 or more people.

Our take
Water is the story at L'Amiraute, the most modern design on this coast, with huge greens, generous fairways and Jean-Pierre Rives' giant sculptures watching you play.
- Serious golfersYou need proper length off the back tees, and the sheer size of the greens makes lag putting a discipline in itself. Fair, kept in consistently good condition, and more of a test than its holiday setting suggests.
- Higher handicapsThere is room to miss on the fairways, but water crosses your path all day and the 5th and 10th are where scores usually drown. Barely any climb, so walking is no hardship.
- Buddy tripsMade for match play, with Rives' enormous statues as a distraction and enough water for real drama. Most games swing at the 5th and the 10th, so stay patient through both.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 77 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 14 km/h, gusting to 44. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 18 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
