About El Paraiso Golf Course
El Paraiso Golf Club on the Costa del Sol is celebrating its 50th year in 2023. Designed by Gary Player the Championship course features lush fairways, strategically placed bunkers and greens that are well worth studying before you take that all important putt. Owned by the members all surplus money goes into maintaining the course and the surroundings and that investment shows.

Our take
Half a century on from its opening and still owned by its members, El Paraiso puts the surplus back into the course, and you can see it in the conditioning from the first tee.
- Serious golfersStudy the greens before you putt, not after, because they are the heart of this Gary Player design. Cards tend to come unstuck at the 5th and again at the 16th, so treat both with respect.
- Higher handicapsLush fairways give you something to hit from, but there is close to 150 metres of climbing over the round, so take a buggy in the heat and save your concentration for the putting.
- SocietiesA members' club with a proper club feel, and with Los Naranjos and Atalaya close by, a three-round trip more or less builds itself without long transfers between courses.
