Description
THE GOLF COURSE
Dieppe in Normandy is one of the oldest golf clubs in France. After many years as an ‘also ran’, the club is enjoying a new lease of life thanks to heavy investment and a “retro” redesign of the golf course.
The near clifftop location overlooking the English Channel has always been impressive and the clubhouse welcome and food excellent. Now Dieppe has become a golfing destination in its own right and is deservedly rated among the best in Normandy.
Laid out in 1897 by the great Willie Park Junior, the course was a true links before World War Two when damage and cliff subsidence put paid to some of the holes. Now, six holes are links and the rest is parkland often with a sea breeze to contend with. The fairways are well shaped and the greens well protected so you need a good all-round game to post a good score.
Traditional golf at its best.
