About Rouen Mont St Aignan Golf Club
Rouen Mont St Aignan is the closest golf course to the attractive medieval city of Rouen in Normandy. Rouen Mont St Aignan is short at just over 6000 yards but sweet with six unassuming holes where you can really get your score going, followed by six holes in the wooded valley and six quite tight holes to finish. It’s a good holiday course with a warm welcome and agreeable food in the charming clubhouse.

Our take
Short at just over 6,000 yards but no pushover, Mont St Aignan opens with six scoring holes then drops into a wooded valley and tightens all the way home.
- Higher handicapsBank your score on the six unassuming openers, because the finish is tight and the 14th and 16th arrive just as swings tire. There are 170 metres of climb out there, so take the buggy.
- CouplesThe closest golf to medieval Rouen, with a warm welcome and agreeable food in a charming clubhouse. Play in the morning, wander the old city in the afternoon, and neither half of the day feels short-changed.
- Buddy tripsThree distinct sixes, scoring holes then the wooded valley then a tight finish, give a match natural momentum. Whoever still holds a lead through the valley has earned the drinks.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Hilly — we would take a buggy. 170 metres of climb over eighteen holes.
The wind. The wind is usually westerly, averaging 11 km/h, gusting to 34. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 8 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The holes that will cost you. The 16th, the 14th and the 11th. The 8th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
Hole by hole — how we would play it
