Donald Steel routed CampoReal through wooded parkland outside Lisbon on flat, easy walking, and the resort polish hides a course that examines even experienced players.
- Serious golfersSteel's routing through the trees demands commitment off the tee and honest club selection into the greens. Water only troubles you on a handful of holes, so the ground itself does most of the defending.
- Higher handicapsThe wooded fairways punish loose driving, so patience matters more than power here. Come for the setting and treat a good score as a bonus.
- CouplesStaying at the Dolce Campo Real resort puts the first tee on your doorstep, and the clubhouse is worth lingering in afterwards. Serene is the right word for the setting.
