Golf Society Trips to Marrakech

Marrakech By The Golf Planet Holidays Team · Golf-travel specialists since 1981 · Published 2 June 2026 At a glance How many golfers can you take to Marrakech on a society trip? Comfortably 12 to 24 players, and often more. We hold group tee times across Assoufid and Al Maaden, and block-book rooms at hotels […]

Marrakech

Organising a society trip is largely thankless work — the spreadsheet, the chasing of deposits, the inevitable two who pay late and the one who can’t decide on a room. Marrakech is the rare destination that makes all of that worthwhile: a short hop from the UK, dependable winter warmth, and three genuinely good courses within a short drive of one another. We handle the parts nobody enjoys so you can get back to deciding the pairings and the order of merit.

Why Marrakech wins for a winter-sun society

When the courses back home are waterlogged and the light’s gone by four, Marrakech delivers what a society actually wants from a winter break: real golf in shirtsleeves. January and February sit comfortably in the mid-to-high teens, the fairways stay firm and fast, and you’re teeing off in proper warmth rather than a damp Algarve fog. It’s a three-to-four-hour flight, so you can leave Gatwick or Manchester in the morning and be on the range by mid-afternoon.

The other quiet advantage is value. The pound goes a long way against the dirham, which means a society budget that buys a long weekend elsewhere stretches to four or five nights here, with more rounds and the kind of evenings out — tagine, a roof terrace, the buzz of the Medina — that turn a golf trip into a proper tour. For a group of twelve to twenty-four chasing winter sun without the long-haul price tag, it’s hard to beat.

The courses and resorts we'd put your society on

The headline act is Assoufid Golf Club — a desert-links laid across rolling dunes with the snow-capped Atlas Mountains as a backdrop on every other tee. It’s dramatic, walkable and a real test off the back markers, but forgiving enough from the forward tees that your higher handicappers won’t lose the will. Pair it with Al Maaden Golf Club, a Kyle Phillips design where lakes, bold bunkering and contemporary sculpture make for a genuinely memorable parkland round, and the mature, palm-lined fairways at the Pickalbatros Hotel du Golf Palmeraie course, and you’ve got three distinct days of golf with no repetition.

For the base, we match the resort to the society. The Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi is the natural group choice — central, generous with rooms, and built for parties that want to eat, drink and gather together. Pickalbatros Hotel du Golf Palmeraie puts you golf-out-the-door in the Palmeraie, while the Fairmont Royal Palm is there when a society wants to trade up to something more polished for the milestone tour. We’ll tell you honestly which one suits your group’s budget and temperament.

Where our specialists would stay in Marrakech

How we make the admin disappear

This is the part that matters to whoever’s been lumbered with organising. We hold the group tee times so the whole society plays together rather than getting split across the day, secure proper group accommodation rates, and arrange private coach transfers from Marrakech Menara airport — which is barely fifteen minutes from most hotels and a short, easy run out to the courses each morning. Buggies, where they’re wanted, are arranged in advance so nobody’s haggling on the first tee.

We also build the trip around how your society actually works. Twin rooms with the odd single for those who’ll pay the supplement, a roll-up format or a Stableford with prizes, a free afternoon for the Medina or a spa for the non-golfing partners — tell us the shape and we’ll cost it cleanly. One point of contact, one itinerary, one invoice, and a rooming list we manage rather than you. The spreadsheet stays in the drawer.

Booking with confidence — and your money protected

Because we’re a tailor-made operator, nothing about your Marrakech trip is off-the-peg — but it’s also properly protected. When we add flights, your holiday is ATOL-protected, so the money the society has pooled is safe and you’re covered if anything goes wrong. We’re a genuine specialist with the trade credentials to match, not a faceless booking site.

Securing a society trip is straightforward: a modest deposit holds the dates and tee times, with the balance due nearer departure — which gives you breathing room to collect from everyone without fronting it yourself. The earlier we lock in winter tee times the better, as January and February fill quickly with UK and European societies chasing the same sun.

If you’ve a date and a rough headcount in mind, tell us and we’ll put together a costed itinerary you can take back to the group. Speak to one of our specialists and we’ll do the legwork.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to take a society to Marrakech?

November through March is prime — winter sun in the mid-to-high teens with firm, fast fairways and the Atlas peaks under snow. January and February are the most popular and book up first, so the earlier you commit the better the tee times and rates. High summer is best avoided, as temperatures can climb well into the 30s and 40s.

How many players can you take, and can we have single rooms and buggies?

We comfortably handle societies of 12 to 24, and larger groups too. Twin and double rooms are standard with single rooms available on a supplement for those who want them, and buggies can be pre-booked at Assoufid, Al Maaden and the Palmeraie course so they’re waiting on the first tee.

How practical are the flights and transfers?

Very. Marrakech Menara is a three-to-four-hour direct flight from several UK airports, and the airport sits roughly fifteen minutes from the city’s hotels. We arrange a private coach for the society, so you travel together from arrival through to each morning’s tee time without anyone hunting for taxis.

What's included in a society package?

We build each trip to order, but a typical society package covers your hotel on the board basis you choose, your green fees with group tee times across the courses you select, and private airport and golf transfers. Flights, buggies, additional rounds and any spa or dining extras are added to suit — and with flights included your holiday is ATOL-protected.
