Stay & play — fromAbout The Players Golf Club
The Players Golf Club is a golf club for everyone. There are two 18 hole courses and a par three golf course. Designed by Adrian Stiff, the flagship Codrington course aims to delight and frustrate you in equal measure , there's lots of water and some tricky dog legs. The Stranahan course is more about positional play and ideal for higher handicappers, or to get your confidence back after a round on the Codrington.
The Players Golf Club is ideal for a day out if you are staying at The Manor House Hotel. Ask us about the bedrooms on site at The Players Golf Club.

Our take
Everyone gets a game at The Players: the Codrington brings the water and doglegs, the Stranahan is the gentler positional round, and there is a par three course on top.
- SocietiesTwo full courses, a par three layout and flat walking all day make this an easy society venue to organise, with the Codrington for the trophy and the Stranahan for the rest of the field.
- Higher handicapsStart on the Stranahan, which was designed with you in mind, and treat the Codrington's water and doglegs as the graduation round. Confidence first, heroics second.
- Buddy tripsA day out with some needle in it. Play both courses, settle matters on the par threes, and keep something in hand for the 5th and the 15th, where most of the damage gets done.
Tell us who’s coming and how you like to play, and we’ll shape the right trip around you.
What you are actually facing
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 65 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually westerly, averaging 14 km/h, gusting to 38. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 14 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Adrian Stiff.
The holes that will cost you. The 15th, the 5th and the 12th. The 15th is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
