• Serious golfersThe greens are small for a modern course, so the thinking starts on the tee. Plan the angle that opens the green up or watch tidy drives turn into scrambled pars all day.
• Higher handicapsGenerous fairways and a flat, easy walk keep it friendly off the tee, but there is more water hiding in these woods than you expect, and those small greens give little away.
• SocietiesLarger parties are only taken on Tuesdays, so this is one to plan the week around rather than bolt on. Worth it for the quietest fairways your society will play all year.
