Our take
At 6,885 metres Mazagan is the longest course in North Africa, a flat Gary Player links beside the Atlantic where length and breeze do the testing because there is no water to find.
- Serious golfersPlayer relied on length and green speed rather than tricks. At 6,885 metres into the ocean breeze you will hit long clubs into huge, quick greens all day, and lag putting decides plenty.
- Higher handicapsThere is not a single water hazard and the walking is completely flat, so nothing punishes you off the tee. The length is the test, so go forward a set of tees and it stays enjoyable.
- Buddy tripsWaves on one side, Moroccan sunshine overhead, fairways kept immaculately. An easy course to build a Casablanca trip around, and flat enough that nobody needs a buggy.
