About Maspalomas Golf Club
Maspalomas Golf course on Gran Canaria is links-like golf where you'd least expect to find it. Spectacularly close to massive dunes, it’s a fine holiday course with wide fairways.
However, poor shots are penalised by the dunes and the mature and varied trees. Opened in 1956 and keen on speedy play, Maspalomas is classic golf in a special setting and deserves its high reputation. Easy walking. One mile from Maspalomas.
It is located in the largest tourist complex in Gran Canaria, where you can find everything from luxury hotels to small complexes with all the comfort you need.

Our take
Mackenzie Ross laid this out among the Maspalomas dunes in 1956, and it still plays like real links golf in a place that has no business having any.
- Serious golfersWide fairways look like an invitation, but the dunes and mature trees collect anything loose, and there is usually enough breeze about to keep you honest. The reputation has held since 1956 for a reason.
- Higher handicapsDead flat, easy walking and generous off the tee, so this is one of the kinder rounds in the Canaries. There is more water about than a dunes course suggests, so club sensibly on the approaches.
- SocietiesThe club is keen on brisk play, which suits a society that keeps moving. Flat underfoot for every age in the group, a mile from Maspalomas itself, and quick enough to be done in time for a long lunch.
