About Finca Cortesin Golf Course
Finca Cortesin golf course is an absolute treat and is an excellent choice of venue for the Solheim Cup September 18-24 2023. . Designer Cabell B. Robinson's masterpiece has rapidly developed a superb reputation among serious golfers. Not surprisingly when Robinson is also responsible for designing Valderrama and Praia d’El Rey among others.
With a completely unspoilt landscape and fine use of the natural terrain, it’s an extremely enjoyable challenge which is always in tip top condition. It’s a worthy addition to the nearby famous courses of San Roque, Valderrama and Sotogrande. Measuring over 7,500 yards from the back tees, it is also Spain’s longest course, so walk forward to the next tee. The service on arrival and in the magnificent clubhouse makes you feel like royalty for the day. The views down to the coast are mesmerising, but we advise you concentrate on the course. Definitely worth splashing out for.

Our take
Finca Cortesin hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup and remains the full championship experience, 7,500 yards from the back tees on ground kept deliberately wild around the edges.
- Serious golfersCabell B. Robinson's championship design, and at 7,500 yards off the tips you can have as much golf course as you can handle. The 14th and 17th decide most rounds, and the breeze usually gets a vote.
- Higher handicapsPlay it well forward and it becomes fair, a mostly level walk with only a handful of water hazards to negotiate. Off the wrong tees the sheer length will grind you down long before the 14th does.
- Buddy tripsOne for the headline tee time of the week. You are walking fairways the Solheim Cup was fought over in 2023, so book it early and dine out on it.
