About Alamos Golf Course
Although relatively short in length, Álamos Golf Course in Portugal is a constant challenge with narrow fairways and smallish tricky greens.
With superb views towards the hills of Serra de Monchique, lakes and farmland, this course produces relaxation and peacefulness. While a shorter course than its sister Morgado Golf Course, it has all the necessary features to meet the expectations of the most demanding player.

Our take
Short on the card but never a soft touch, Alamos squeezes you between narrow fairways and small tricky greens with the Monchique hills for company.
- Serious golfersLeave the driver alone. Position into these small greens is everything, and it is the 10th and the 16th that quietly undo good cards here.
- Higher handicapsNarrow fairways punish crooked more than short, and there is enough water about to cost a couple of balls. A moderate walk with around 100 metres of climb, so most still manage on foot.
- Buddy tripsPairs naturally with its longer sister Morgado for a 36-hole day: the shorter Alamos in the morning while legs are fresh, the big course after lunch.

The walk. Moderate. 107 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually north-westerly, averaging 13 km/h, gusting to 45. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
