• Serious golfersLeave the driver alone. Position into these small greens is everything, and it is the 10th and the 16th that quietly undo good cards here.
• Higher handicapsNarrow fairways punish crooked more than short, and there is enough water about to cost a couple of balls. A moderate walk with around 100 metres of climb, so most still manage on foot.
• Buddy tripsPairs naturally with its longer sister Morgado for a 36-hole day: the shorter Alamos in the morning while legs are fresh, the big course after lunch.
