About Woburn Golf Club – The Marquess’ Golf Course

- Buggies - reservation needed, we can book these for you.
- Trolleys both electric and power caddies available.
- Clubhouse - restaurant and bar
- Play alongside The Duke and The Duchess courses
Our take
The Marquess completes Woburn's famous trio, an immaculate tree-lined parkland from Peter Alliss, Clive Clark and Alex Hay that rolls gently underfoot without ever punishing the legs.
- Serious golfersTree-lined avenues ask for a shaped tee shot all day and the fairways are kept immaculate; add the Duke and the Duchess next door and you have 54 holes genuinely worth travelling for.
- SocietiesOne of the easiest big-name venues to build a society day around: three courses on one site, a clubhouse restaurant and bar, and buggies that need reserving ahead, which we can book for you.
- Higher handicapsTrees on both sides mean the wild driver pays a tax all day, but there is little water and the walking is gentle; keep the driver in the bag on the tighter holes and you will cope.

What you are actually facing
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 14 km/h, gusting to 42. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 4 hazards in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Peter Alliss and Clive Clark with Ross McMurray (European Golf Design) and Alex Hay.
Terrain and prevailing-weather data, read hole by hole. It is our own assessment of how the course plays, not an official course or slope rating.
