About Wentworth Club Edinburgh Golf Course, Surrey
ABOUT THE GOLF COURSE Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey is home to three magnificent golf courses in one superlative location. The East and West courses is a Harry Colt design from the 1920s. The Edinburgh course is a collaboration between Gary Player, John Jacobs and Bernard Gallacher. It was opened in 1990 by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The Edinburgh course has a wide selection of teeing areas to suit all players. There are generous landing areas off the tee but longer hitters will find that strategically located pines can ruin their approach. Large greens offer straightforward pin locations to appeal to the average player. But clever hazard placement also make it possible to ‘tuck’ pins into tougher, more closely-guarded areas to make the more accomplished players work hard to earn their birdie chances. The Edinburgh is a haven for wildlife, a sanctuary for the area’s flora and fauna and “is one of the best conditioned courses in the world” says two-time Wentworth Senior Masters winner, Eduardo Romero. Follow in the footsteps of some of golf’s greatest champions when you enjoy a memorable day at Wentworth.
