About Wentworth Club East Golf Course
Wentworth Golf Club is home to three magnificent golf courses in one superlative location. The East and West courses is a Harry Colt design from the 1920s. The Edinburgh course is a collaboration between Gary Player, John Jacobs and Bernard Gallacher. It was opened in 1990.
The East Course is the members’ favourite. Host to the Curtis Cup in 1932 and a forerunner of the Ryder Cup in 1926, the East is the quiet “brother” of the West but its quality is loud and clear. Colt’s overall design philosophy was that a golf course should give a player a variety of options in terms of shot selection; a characteristic that makes his golf courses challenging for the game’s best players, but at the same time enjoyable for the amateur golfer.
