About Troia golf
Award-winning Troia Golf, is a challenging course, near Lisbon, Portugal. This exceptionally attractive par 72 golf course, runs along the beach with the Arrabida Mountain in the background. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, he chose the third hole here as one of the best he had ever created. This par four blends perfectly into the seascape. The 18th hole is a perfect finish - a par five, you have to negotiate a dogleg left with an elevated green, protected by three front bunkers.
In 2019 Troia was voted one of Continental Europe's best 10 resorts by Golf World magazine and it is listed in The Rolex World's Top 1,000 Golf Courses guide.

Few courses near Lisbon defend themselves like Troia, a Robert Trent Jones Senior links laid straight along the beach where the sea breeze does half the work.
- Serious golfersTrent Jones rated the third among the best holes he ever built, and the round starts asking questions immediately; cards wobble as early as the 1st and again at the 7th, so arrive switched on.
- Higher handicapsBe honest about your game before booking it. The walk is easy and the climb barely registers, but the breeze off the water rarely drops and a links this exacting finds every loose shot.
- Buddy tripsWorth building the Lisbon leg of a trip around. Play it fresh rather than after a big night, take an extra club when the wind is off the sea, and save the par-five 18th story for the bar.
