Costa Navarino, The Dunes course is a Bernhard Langer in association with European Golf Design creation. Next door to the The Romanos hotel and Westin Resort Costa Navarino, the Dunes course is set in a landscape of diverse topography with spectacular sea and river views.
It incorporates links-style features in areas closest to the sea, with tall dunes dividing some of the holes next to the golden beach. The fairways are generally wide and the large greens are often on several levels. Parts of the course venture into olive and fruit groves, while some holes run along a small river that meanders through the site. Don't get too distracted by the scenery as the course needs your full attention to score well.
The Dunes course is a different challenge to its sister course The Bay. 2022 saw the opening of two new 18 hole courses at Costa Navarino, The Hills and The International Olympic Academy course, sealing this resort's reputation for excellent golf. There are free regular shuttles to The Bay, The Hills and the IOAC.

Our take
Genuine links flavour on the Greek coast, with tall dunes beside a golden beach and a sea breeze that asks for one club more.
- Serious golfersThe holes nearest the beach play like real links, tall dunes and all, and the breeze off the sea rarely rests. Flight it down, take the extra club, and respect the large greens.
- Higher handicapsWide fairways and big greens give you room to miss, there is next to no water, and the ground stays flat throughout. The wind is the only thing between you and a decent score.
- Buddy tripsWith the Romanos and the Westin next door and the Bay Course a short shuttle away, a group can play 36 a day without touching a car. Everyone will want the Dunes first.

What you are actually facing
The wind. The wind is usually north-westerly, averaging 12 km/h, gusting to 42. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. 1 hazard in play. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Bernhard Langer, European Golf Design.
