About Real Club de Golf las Brisas
Real Club de Golf las Brisas is a private golf club which welcomes visitors. The numerous lakes and strategically placed bunkers, not forgetting Robert Trent Jones’ customary raised greens make this a challenging course for everyone. The opening holes may lead you to believe this is going to be fairly straightforward but after that it’s just a superb test. You will appreciate the fine service in the clubhouse afterwards. Recognised as one of Europe’s finest courses, Las Brisas has hosted a number of international competitions.

Our take
If you build one showpiece round into a Marbella trip, make it Las Brisas: Trent Jones lakes, his customary raised greens and a private club that genuinely welcomes visitors.
- Serious golfersWater waits on hole after hole and the raised greens throw back anything half-struck; the 1st plays far harder than it looks, and the 10th is where good cards go to die.
- Higher handicapsBe under no illusions: the lakes and raised greens will take a heavy toll on a 24-handicapper's ball supply, and the ground is hilly with it; bring spare balls and a sense of humour.
- Buddy tripsSave it for the last day and settle the week's money here; the fine service in the clubhouse afterwards softens the blow for whoever the lakes caught out.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Hilly — we would take a buggy. 193 metres of climb over eighteen holes.
The wind. The wind is usually northerly, averaging 7 km/h. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. Water is very much in play across this course. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
The design. Robert Trent Jones.
The holes that will cost you. The 10th, the 1st and the 5th. The 1st is the one you will be talking about afterwards.
