About Platja de Pals Golf Course
Platja de Pals is the oldest course in the region and perfect for holiday golf. Designed by Fred Hawtree it is flat with tree-lined fairways and plenty of greenside bunkers. Accuracy is required at all times. The course condition is immaculate and Platja de Pals has hosted many international tournaments. Next to the sea and with direct access to the La Costa hotel, the course is easy walking. 28 miles east of Girona.

Our take
The oldest course on the Costa Brava is still one of its most straightforward pleasures: flat, tree-lined, kept in immaculate order and only ever asking you to hit it straight.
- Higher handicapsOnly three water hazards all round and no climb worth mentioning, so the walk is gentle and the scoring chances are real. The trees and greenside bunkers punish wildness, not lack of power.
- Serious golfersHawtree's tree-lined corridors and busy greenside bunkering want a straight ball rather than a long one, and the tournament history here is genuine. It won't overpower you, but a careless round through these trees gets expensive.
- CouplesRight by the sea with direct access from the La Costa hotel next door, so the tee is a stroll from breakfast and the round stays an easy walk from first to last.
