About Palingbeek
Palingbeek is an enjoyable holiday golf course that is perfect to play on the way to your golf holiday destination in Belgium or on the way home. The water on the course really only comes into play on the 18th where long hitters may be tempted to go straight for the green while the mortals among us will play the dog-leg as we should and then face a second shot that needs to carry the lake! Easy walking with an excellent clubhouse restaurant.

Our take
Break the journey at Ypres and you get easy walking, a very good clubhouse restaurant, and an 18th that dares you to take on the lake.
- Buddy tripsPerfect for the first or last day of a Belgian trip, and the 18th settles the bets: long hitters can go straight at the green over the lake, the rest of us play the dog-leg and hope the second shot carries.
- Higher handicapsEasy on the legs, with hardly any climb worth mentioning, and the water largely stays out of your way until the last. It is the 5th and the 13th where cards tend to come unstuck.
- SocietiesAn easy-walking course with a genuinely good restaurant at the end of it, which covers most of what a society day needs. Build it into the itinerary as the travel-day round rather than a detour.

What you are actually facing
The walk. Flat, and an easy walk — 44 metres of climb over the round.
The wind. The wind is usually south-westerly, averaging 13 km/h, gusting to 44. It is the club selection that catches people out, not the yardage.
The water. Water is very much in play across this course. Bring a few more balls than you think you need.
